afternoon all. i,ve just fitted a car sterio in me boat, but im after some nice looking decent speakers that will fit under the gunwal, so nothing to big. been looking at bose but there far to many spondoolics for me. does anyone know of a make that produce a decent sound?? that ar,nt a great deal of money?? that will work off a car sterio?? thank you all.
  5. the ingine im running it on is a 21yr old 200tdi, never "purged" it at all and dare say i wont. gave it a all round service today, as sweet as a nut. and i would be more than happy to run a 80yr old marine ingine on it, but to be honest the amount of hours i run the boat ingine its not worth the hastle.
  6. i get veggy oil from a local wholesalers, pound a ltr, been running my car on it for over two years and you can do so legaly upto 2500ltrs a year if you keep a record of it not used it in me boat yet as ive got 2000ltrs of red very cheap that i keep filling me tank up with.
  7. nae problem. having got a sample window from a "welsh arab" company it seems there is absoluty no differance from the windows you would get from a very well known "boat window" company, accept the price!!
  8. the windows in me boat are buggerd, there about 50yr old and out of a old bus, there made out of stainless and drop to bits when taken out to see to the rust behind them. im thinking of getting some new windows slightly bigger, then cutting the hole out a bit bigger to loose the rust. having built a few horseboxes over the years and using coldwell horsebox windows, they seem very well made and are very heavy, but a lot cheaper than there narrowboat windows. has anyone ever used horsebox windows in there boat??
  9. i used to fit boats out, most cabbin sides and roofs were done in 9mm faced ply, although i reffited my own boat and i done the cabbin sides in 16mm t+g. 3.5 is far to thin.
  10. yes, theres two winding oles, one just before marina and one outside the dock, both official.
  11. surely even with a automatic change over valve you would have to relite the cooker due to the flame falior (spelt wrong i know)
  12. doubt i,ll here out off this bloke again now hes got what he were after nea mind one good turn as they say.
  13. whats a boat key?? does it float? if so they could be a floating off some where
  14. calcut boats do a lot of bmc stuff i think, but there on the other side of cheap. north kilworth marina might be worth a try aswell.

    Engine size

well hello and welcome. as far as i understand the petter AA1 is great for river cruising
  18. ive a co2 in my engine room as it wont bugger the engine if needed, if a dry powdre ext is used on a running engine the engine will be a right off, as the powder from the ext scores the barrels and gets in the bearings.
  19. passed through braunston yesterday by boat, if the weather is alf decent over the weekend we,ll prob come over by car for a mooch about. we pssed zodiac on the oxford somewhere, cant remember where though
