    not boat related, but does anyone know the starting procedure of a petter ba2?? theres two plugs on top of the heads for a drop of oil to go in before starting, how much oil?? then theres a fuel priming plug/button on the side of the engine?? never played with these engines, so any ideas would be good. its on a screw type log splitter. thanks.

  8. i made my own out of 2"weld mesh and some stainlesssteel cable ties, comes in handy when i leave my two madd terriers in there we the fire going!!! and it folds up so can be tucked away when not needed.

  10. made a stainless one about eight years ago, its a odd shape that i wanted. never had a prob with it, and still like it even though the mrs recons the bathroom needs refitting!!!!

  12. i can get hold of blue for £2 a gallon, but weve stopped using it and now use some sort of washing machine powder, seems to work well.

  17. whilst coming into napton between bridges 110 and 109, we came across the most strange vessel weve ever seen. looked like a double ended wide beam, thin at each end and a great bulbus bit in the middle. very hard to discribe.. wish i had got a pic or two. has anyone else come across this vessel?? and got any pics??

  20. what is it with people and fenders?? seen a boat today putting fenders down before he went into lock, then strugling like feck to get them out as they were snagging against the wall, must say they were a bit oversized. we would,nt use fenders in any lock double or single, lets be honest the boat aint going to fall off the end of the world is it???????? oooh my paint!!!!!
  21. went by there today, must say there advertising skills did,nt look to great, there wall facing the cut had "under new management" scrawled on it in paint or some mighty big chalk sticks. think a A board might of looked better meself.
  22. me and mrs pete went through swarkstone just last week, mrs,p took the boat i worked the lock, i assume this chap at the lock is the same one you are on about, a tad chuby round the midriff one could say. anyway i got to said lock to be greeted by him saying "im the lock keeper" as he was opening paddles before boat was in the lock, a complete a--hole and his english was no better than his locking skills!! glad it was me working the lock and not mrs p.
