  1. I’ll set up a direct debit to pay you every morning when we switch it on !
  2. No it was refurbished by a marine specialist but your right coz I just wired it directly to the batteries and now it’s totally fine. Must have been the voltage drop between the unit and the switch panel. Thanks Yeah I tried that too. Made no difference but worth a go. Thanks
  3. Sorted! That’s exactly what it was. Just wired it directly to the batteries rather than via the switch panel. That extra three meters must have caused the voltage drop. Thank you SO much !
  4. Hi Everyone, my (refurbished) Webasto thermo top C seems to have a problem. It usually doesn’t start tho I have had it running a few times and it’s great but has never worked twice in a row. Lately it has refused to start altogether because the fuel pump isn’t clicking . I bared the fuel pump positive lead to test it and it works fine. If I tap it against the positive battery terminal i can see the fuel moving through the (temporary) transparent fuel pipe and even get the unit to fire up whilst doing this but when I stop, the fuel stops and of course it shuts down. . Have checked the continuity between both ends of the pump wiring harness and its fine but there’s no voltage pulse from the unit to the pump. The batteries are good and voltage is 14v when the sun is out. Have tried all the restart/ on,off /5 seconds/ fuse out bollox and now i’m all out of ideas and considering abandoning it and putting it down to ( a bad ) experience. Shame coz this is the time of year when we could do with using it because it’s cold in the mornings but not cold enough to put the Rayburn on…and it’s cost me about £800 up to now..Argh !! Can any clever person think of anything I’ve not checked ? Cheers
  5. in. And hope for the best. Cheers steve
  6. Hi David , yeah your right. Thanks for the top tip about the bleach. I think I knew I had to do this but have been avoiding it. Back in the old days, GeForce the virus, the kids would have been at school or we could have sent them off to stay with family and friends. I’m going to get some serious water containers
  7. Hi everyone. Our water is making me ill. My partner and our kids are fine but if i drink our water, even from the filter, it gives me rumbling indigestion type stomach problems. I have to have a bottled water from the water point. If i boil it first it's fine. Any ideas what this is ? It's been fine for the last 15 years. We've got a big tank so takes 6 weeks or so to empty fully. i don't really want to shove water purifying tablets in there as they taste like bleach and it's not going to go down well with the kids. Flushing it through isn't so easy as there's usually a queue at the water point anyway and it takes us ages to fill up once, never mind twice and emptying it in between. Anyone else had this problem ? Can we get our water tested? if so how ? Also...why does it just effect me and not the rest of my family? Thanks everyone. Hope your staying safe
  8. I totally Agree...my 'shoreline' was a total pile of crap! It cost £350 back in 2004.
  9. My Shoreline fridge has had it. It was always a bit crap and whilst only three years old, it has rubbish seals and rusty edges . I'm sure a lot of my cold air is just falling out of the fridge. Whats to stop me buying a new LEC for say £80 and using the stuff from the shoreline to convert it? Would it just be a case of soldering in the danfoss BD35f and Gassing it back up? Any advice would be appreciated. I could do with saving £300 or so. Cheers
  10. Never had dealings with these people but Be very careful. Try Asking the boat builder to provide you with the phone numbers or email addresses of the last three people he built boats for. If he's not too keen beware ...he could be dodgy or shoddy. I wish i'd done this as I've never met anyone who was happy with my Keynsham based boatbuilder. Good luck I
  11. I had no horn either so i use an old Trombone...picked it up for a fiver at the car boot sale. It's very loud [the loudest instrument in the orchestra they tell me.] Couldn't play it all but now a couple of years later i can get a bit of a tune out of it. I started by copying air horn tunes. Loadsa fun, needs no batteries and just hangs on a hook by the backhatch. Cheers Folks
  12. 9 months !...RLL of Keynsham near Bristol...they were rubbish !
  13. I made a 12v charger for my Macbook .It cost me a few quid and took 10 minutes to make. Just buy a 800w Laptop multicharger from Maplins £5.99 and a female 2.5mm power plug £1.20 Snip the cable off your mac 240 charger and solder the female power plug on to the cable. There are only two wires in there . Centre is positive. Job done ! Works great. Before i was using huge amounts of power to charge it with the inverter Stick another female power plug on your old 240v charger and it works as before. No need to pay $80 to have the same thing[but in white] sent from the states or £46 here in the uk. Cheers Folks
