  1. I use my son's address. This has the advantage of being free and he can scan anything important and email it to me.
  2. Hi, struggling a bit with the new site but guess I'll find my way around. The link on the announcement stating more info here doesn't work.
  3. There's a stoppage on the T&M just south of Gt Hayward until 17 Mar.
  4. Mine ended up in the water once but I found it easily - it was in my pocket at the time.
  5. I'm fairly sure there is no booking it's just turn up and hope. I've been twice, once in August, and found a slot both times. They are limited to 48 hrs if I recall correctly and there are no services in the basin so stop on the way down just above lock 52.

  7. Not really my style but it is certainly a beautifully fitted out boat.
  8. Corgi was the register of approved gas fitters - now replaced by Gas Safe register. Link below: https://www.gassaferegister.co.uk
  9. That seems very shallow, most narrowboats are deeper draft. Does anyone know if it really is 24" or is that CART being conservative.

  12. Agree it's the one on the inside of the turn into the basin. Fortunately should only affect a couple of mooring spots as there are two wide beams on permanent moorings there.
  13. Thanks for sharing that. Looks a useful app and also has details of events on the river
  14. Yes. The Joker boat but no black pearl. http://www.yellowsubliverpool.co.uk/boats.html
  15. There is a sister ship - a yellow submarine. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/travel/article-2172505/Yellow-Submarine-themed-floating-hotel-opens-Liverpool-delight-Beatles-fans.html
  16. Some useful info on this kayak site: http://www.unsponsored.co.uk/press/choosing-a-throw-line/

  18. It's not clear from the article but it seems to be only the section beyond the fan footbridge which isn't available to boaters. Anyone know if the existing moorings will remain.
  19. Hi, I came over the L&L in December and would recommend it as the prettiest and easiest route over the pennies. A trip into Liverpool would be a good diversion for a couple of weeks, I would have done it but the link is closed in winter. You need to book to get down the flight of 4 locks into Salthouse Dock and to reserve a mooring there. Full details and some useful links on the CRT site - link below: https://canalrivertrust.org.uk/enjoy-the-waterways/canal-and-river-network/liverpool-canal-link
  20. Just to finish the story. I moved along to the visitor moorings just past bridge 123e for a couple of nights. These are alongside a grassed area leading up to the city walls and handy for Tesco, Iceland and the city centre. After that I dropped through the staircase locks to use the services in the basin and spent another peaceful night there. It is a bit noisy during the day due to the building of a large block of flats but quiet in the evening. After a pleasant couple of weeks in the city I'm now at Barbridge junction and will shortly head up the Llangollen. Thanks for the advice and I hope others find this useful info,
  21. Welcome aboard. Good luck in your life afloat and Uni studies.
  22. They are also published on the EA website - link below: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/anglian-waterways-river-conditions-closures-and-restrictions
  23. The planned stoppages at Beeston Locks and Bunbury locks has slipped a week and will now run from 6 Feb to 19 Feb according to the CRT site.
