  1. In the times he wrote on this site, there was a lot of drivel expressed regarding electrics. Some of which eminated from boat engineers and boatyards. Oh and in an era pre smartphone.

  14. I hope as a matter of course we report these attempts to the police. I'm afraid human nature being what it is we don't. I know it's basically data logging, but. We should do it, if nothing else it's intelligence. I'm just as guilty though, thank my lucky stars and move on.
  15. It's a bind, but we use normal polishes during show season and Vaseline when the showmans engine is laid up over winter. As you say spray varnish discolours, is impossible to get a decent finish. Plus some brass work gets very hot in use.

  19. For gods sake hasn't anyone rumbled this guy, and taken his begging bowl offline yet?
  20. Buy concentrate, pink or blue, depending on system requirements, flush thru before filling, if been finicky dilute with de-ionised water.
  21. Yes some machines like to go walkies, especially when on wooden floors. I'm afraid hoovers hotpoints etc have a reputation for this, others don't Bosch, AEG, Miele, SMEG. It's really to do with the drum balance/suspension system. Frankly it comes down to costs.
  22. I've been reading this thread, I might have missed it somewhere, but has the OP outlined his use for the boat e.g. Live aboard weekender or why
  23. Re muntjac dear, they are a scourge, ask any forrester, but it would be useful to know where you see them, I'm curious to know how fast they are spreading, ditto wild boar, coypu and other non native pests Used to be able to buy it in Boots, if memory serves its high in vitamin C.
