  1. Yes it was - thought you looked familiar. Have you been to some of the local banters?

We'll be going towards Leicester at the weekend to avoid the Loughborough scrum and becuase I want to sail at Syston on Saturday afyternoon.

yes I was at the xmas banter. knew your face was familiar.

didn't manage to squash me in the locks boat.gif

  2. The moorings were filling up this morning when we left. Dont expect to find a mooring on Friday between The Boat and Belton Road bridge including the basin arm. There are offside moorings by Nottingham Road bridge which are OK on bollards or try between Belton rd and Loughborough Lock. Slightly out of town there some nice moorings below Bishop Meadow Lock.

was it you i shared a couple of locks with on the way to thurmaston today?

there were afew spaces around the curve yesterday morning

  3. Is this due to the unusual depth of water or will it be completely submerged when the flood recedes?

if i can assist in getting it back to the surface an started on the mend let me know, dinghy an another pair of hands are ready to go

  4. You don't need a lock, just turn right over the fields to the right on the way down, duck as you pass the telegraph poles though.

good thinking, can cut the corners across the fields.

best avoid the wires, dont want to put leicester back into the dark ages

  5. Of course you made it - Apart from the lack of shelter thats a easy trip!!!! (Have to say Fuzz, surprised you made it past the Hope , or Sorrell !) There must have been an agreement that you would buy the beers if you stopped before Beeston ?????

I suspect you were travelling in excess of the speed limit (Well you normally are when we meet you!)

Do I need to bring the trailer down to Beeston for the trip home ?

we passed the pubs before they opened, so had to settle for a shop stop in luff.

ran aground on the trent, an so nearly died(well not quite)

the dinghy did about 60mph on the way back
