  1. If that was you that spoke to me at the White Horse, I'm sorry if I wasn't very chatty - we'd been playing till midnight the night before and the afternoon in the heat nearly finished me off! My back gives me a bit of grief and it decided to play up halfway through the 2nd set so I was feeling a bit ouch by the end.  Anyway, I hope you enjoyed it.

Hi Arthur, yes it was me who spoke to you yesterday. No worries, I didn't think you weren't chatty; besides, I perform myself and know how much it takes it out of you, especially 3 hours in that heat! We thoroughly enjoyed it; the best music we saw all day and the only "folky" stuff which was surprising considering it's supposed time be a folk festival!

  2. Slightly amended version. One and a half minutes of foolishness... bit too late for St Pat's day, but it'll be there for next year.

  3. Broken boats, bent trombones - obviously time to write a cheerful song...

  4. I never share, but it had to be done this time...

  5. A sad day for the NHS. A typical day for the Government. Lie about the statistics, lie about the negotiations, lie about the doctors, lie about the privatisation, lie about who's going to suffer when doctors vote with their feet. And who can blame them? We've profited long enough by stealing health workers from other countries. Ah well, it'll be more profit for the drug companies, for private health providers - and, of course, for half the government who sit on the boards of these companie...

  6. Well, the band may not like it, but I do, so here it is...

  7. Ah, it's not a bad life...

  8. I wrote this song in 2020, just after the Conservative Party had been re-elected by a landslide after ensuring that anyone with income less than the average was ineligible to vote.

  9. This takes me back a year or two...

  10. Look, it's December the blasted 6th. stop filling up my FB feed with this Christmas rubbish. It'll be blasted carol singers next...

  11. Still one of my favourite songs - for the navvies who built the roads, the canals, the bridges - and, according to our banjo player, the pyramids, the leaning tower of Pisa and the Eiffel Tower.

  12. i TOLD you it was silly

  13. I decided the previous version was too nice about them...

  14. Seems apt, for some reason that escapes me...

  15. Well, I've not been well...

  16. Well, it is the Tory Party Conference again...

  17. Ah my aching back...

  18. A pox on B&Q... a muted hurrah for Wickes...

  19. Anyone know of an expresso machine that makes two good strong cups of coffee? I've got a Delonghi thing but it really is only capable of producing one cup at a time, which is no good if you're being sociable (not that I am, very). Don't want one that uses pods as I like to (if you'll pardon the phrase) grind my own... and it needs a milk frother so i can have cappuchino.

  20. Turn on the news, turn off the news - what's all this about an election? I remember... I remember...

  21. Home, more or less... and here's a train for John Harrison, because he likes them...

  22. Right, that's it. See you all in a fortnight...

  23. The Blarney are boogying Irishly in Knutsford tonight at the Lord Eldon. We are fairly sure two people are coming... be nice if they have some company...
