Benjamin b 1904 was Mums brother,the brother who drowned ( Joe) married Sarah Ellen Grantham.Benjamin and Emily Eliza were my Grandparents.John(Jack)Franks married Violet Powell.Mary Franks married Sid Freeth.All these were boat people.Thanks for the reply x

My Mums family were all boat people....we can trace them back to 1793, family name Franks. Most of them married into other boating families.My Gt Grandad Franks owned his own boats-Benjamin and Valiant. My Mums brother Joe Franks drowned in a canal lock at Slough in 1936, this is when Mums parents decided to leave the canals and settle in Marsworth. Dad was lock keeper at lock 39

My parents also have a working narrowboat on their headstone in Marsworth churchyard.It depicts the boat 'Valiant' which is the name of the boat my Mum was born on.

Ernest Charles Kendall b.dec 1/4 1901.registered daventry .... died 1982 was married to Harriet Stratfull(b.28 Oct 1901 aylesbury) Thay married in 1924 at Braunstone. Harriet Stratful was my Grandfathers niece. My Grandfather was Benjamin Franks and his sister Eliza Jane married Edward Charles Stratfull in 1897.hope this is some help
