To all those lovers of engine porn...this lovely Bolinder is to be fitted in Gorse next year to replace the SR3. I cant wait to get those chaps down from Marine Power Services to fire her up and hopefully avoid blowing a hole in the roof

Thanks for your encouraging words...do you have any images from the restoration of Admiral? I am trying to get as much info together on the construction of the stern ready to build a new one. I have built a stern already but an element of it has been educated guess work and I want to get Gorse as right as possible. All the best Toby

Dear all I am also new to the forum and I am gradually working my way through discussions of interest. I am the new owner of Water Lupin or rather the front 35 foot of Gorse. I have cut back all the more recent additions and I will be fabricating a new riveted stern and engine room which will include a lovely W7 M20 bolinder bought from Marine Power Services I appreciate its not the original specification engine but it is the closest I can get my hands on. I joined the forum to try and learn a little more about Gorse and to speak to others who have undertaken similar projects... any words of advice greatly appreciated...

Hi...I am new to the forum and just thought I would ask if anyone out there has a manual for a Bolinder W7 M20 engine? I bought this splendid engine off Marine Power Services ready to go in Gorse
but a manual would be great if anyone has any ideas

The gas cut edge has been cleaned back ready to accept the formed flats -
marking out the new bulkhead. The formed flat strips will be welded in situ to re make the cut away angle so we can rivet the bulkhead in as per the original -

The front half certainly needs a lot of work. I have spent two weeks just cutting everything back to the original...hopefully tomorrow I can start the actual fun bit and lay the new bottom plates and bolt in a new front bulkhead. If you have any images of the stern I would love to see them. All being well I hope to do a restoration blog if I can find the time. All the bes...
