  5. Hi, About two weeks a lady from narrowboat "Jennifer" told us she lost her Jack Russell coming through Hillmorton Locks, and last night one was found and brought to us in our garden by the locks. We have lost her tel number but believe they are moored at Wigrams Arm. Can you please contact us to find out if it is your dog. Or can anyone who knows them please contact them. You can call us on 07834 243685. Carol and Mark, NB Ozzy.
  6. Hi. I have a harborough marine narrowboat with a GRP roof. Some years ago I sanded and repainted it. Now the paint is peeling. The roof has a very small diamond pattern all over it except on the outer part where is meets the cabin sides - this has not peeled. Every time I sand another bit lifts the next day. What I would like to do is re-gel coat it but I am worried that if I put the new gel coat on flakey paint the gel coat will lift as well. Any ideas how i get the paint off - the diamonds just don't want to be sanded. Any help much appreciated.
  7. Thanks for all your comments. The fridge is 12 volt DC. I left the power converter on for about 3 hours - but the fridge did not work. After about 3-4 hours back on the 12 volt the compressor kicked in & it is now working fine. I will return the convertor to Shoreline & hopefilly get a refund.
  8. I just installed a power convertor (240 volt) for my Shoreline fridge. All the cables were connected correctly and the unit was putting out 24 Volts. There was a slight noise from the fridge when I switched the 240 power on and then nothing else. The unit is putting out the correct power but the fridge is dead - the red led light is not working either. I then put it back onto the 12 Volt but the fridge is still dead (checked the voltage output from the 12 volt & it is putting out 14 volts) It seems that the power convertor had killed my fridge - any ideas before I try and get compensation from Shorline?
  9. Thank you for all your comments. Thank you also for the offer of a vanette oven - to far to travel. I will attempt to re-grease the taps. Regards.
  10. Hi, Seem to have a small intermittent leak in our Vanette Oven. Only seems to happen every now & then – it’s like the knob of the oven is getting stuck, but doesn’t seem stuck – weird. Anybody had a similar problem? – don’t really want to buy a new oven if the old one can be fixed.
  11. Hi Sue, Just to let you know Tony's dog Nike is fine. We moor on his old mooring outside his cottage (probably know you by face if you come to Badseys). And for the moment Nike is staying at the cottage with Tony's friend Mishu, and when he's not there Mark and I take it out for a walk in the day and then take her up to our garden in the evening till Mishu gets home. We also took her to the beauticians at the weekend and she is shiny like a princess now. She has perked up, so please don't worry about her. Sadly you are right though, Hillmorton will never be the same. Carol and Mark (from Ozzy)
  12. Thanks for keeping us up to date. However, I have heard talk on the canalways that there may be other visitors to the grounds at Canley who wish to pay their respects.
  13. My partner and I feel very lucky to consider Canalchef and his lovely lady wife very good friends, and proud and happy to have considered TONY MILES to be so also. We live on our boat on Tony's old mooring opposite his cottage, which TONY helped us to do. Tony helped us with so much more and we love him for it. But most of all we love him because for a man who is a legend, he was so much more than the legend. We will miss him terribly and feel for his family and his multitudes of friends. "Tony's Secret Garden" a few steps away from his cottage garden (or the 'Taverna' as I thought of it) will be open to all his friends any time we are there (which is most nights that we're not at Badseys!), and all will be welcome. Cheers Tony.
