  1. If you google ''clear cache'' it should tell you how to do it for most browsers. For example, Firefox, Click Options, select advanced, click network tab, Cache web content section ''Clear now''.
  2. Just discovered another issue, with me anyway. 'It won't let me sign out'. I keep clicking on sign out, but it keeps me signed in. I didn't know I was that well liked.

  4. Snap. Eggsactly what I was a doin until about 7pm yesterday, clicking on my old CWDF bookmark. You might need to clear your cache, I did. There's one thing I've noticed, is that the names of members reading this or a thread do not appear below anymore, like now.
  5. Ahoy everybody. Looks like I'm about nine hours late, been clicking on CWDF in my 'bookmarks' on and off during the day and kept on getting the 'Fatal error thing'. Thought the site was busted for ever and taken all my wheezes and stuff with it. But lo I just decided to google the site instead of clicking on the bookmark and bingo, I'm in, it works. I've now re-bookmarked the site with a new bookmark and all is fine. So you're all still stuck with all my nonsense in the archives, so there A great many thanks to Daniel and Paul C and whoever else for a grand and magnificent job.
  6. I do pretty much know, normal daytime 9 to 5ish and they're ''all at it'' on and off almost all day and half the night.
  7. I explained on another thread last week I think how I found my old school's website and posted a few comments on Sport, school dinners and punishments, anyhow, what I didn't realize was that it involved FB and to see my posts fully I had to sign up, and wow!! What an eye opener. Having a look around the site and within a few minutes nearly all my friends and relations had spotted me and start doing the friend thing. I shouldn't have used my correct name. Nearly all of them are younger than me and apart from a couple of housewives are all or should be at work, but according to my friends lists they seem to be on and off it every few minutes almost 24/7 and what drivel!.And these are just my folk. So there must also be millions doing the same throughout the country. If they're not using their company's computers to do it, I reckon they're doing FB secretly on their tablets under their desks all the time.
  8. I see. Well, it needs to go wobbly for good, in my opinion. From what little I've seen of it, million upon millions of folk mostly talking drivel 24/7 on it. A very very large proportion of whom are supposed to be at work. If it were to fail for about a year or better still, entirely the country and indeed the world would almost certainly rise out of recession.
  9. What about using the same Host that Facebook uses, which never seems to fail, worse luck!!

    Dodgem

I'm afraid not, you see he's camera shy.
  11. There's a statue of the Duke of Wellington on his horse in the City of London. Next time I'm up there I'm going to examine his Welly's for any signs of the remains of Salmon or Beef. I fear it'll only be cheese though.

    Dodgem

Satchidanander, my cat thinks he's a dodgem car at the fair. His tail's permanently erect, the tip bent over like the electrical collection pantograph of a Dodgem, Trolley bus or Tramcar. He makes this clear as he runs along my fence with his tail rubbing along my washing line which just above it. I haven't seen any sparks yet, or blue lights. When his tail looses contact he definitely slows down to a crawl until tail contact is reestablished.
  13. You can overdo sticky out bilge keels. Their main roll is to dampen rolling in a seaway, but if they're too big they can dampen rolling too much and you can get swamped more easily by a beam sea. The East coast is generally muddy, soft and ideal for a bilge keel boat to take the ground. The West coast is generally quite rocky and in most places it's best to try and remain afloat.
  14. The Boatman stove is almost a direct copy of that Carabo stove. It might be worth trying to measure the bits, the top plate collar, the flue pipes inside and outside diameter and contacting Boatman stoves. Also, I think Ray Bowerne at Streethay Wharf near Lichfield is or used to be a Carabo agent.

  17. There's normally more petrol in my cig lighter than there is in my car.
  18. There's no need to go all the way to Rome old chap, the Pope won't know much about rust, he might know a bit about Angel grinders though. Personally, if there's any rust left after buzzing with a cup brush in an angle grinder I'd Jenolite, Vactan the rust, then Zinc phosphate primer then yer under coat and top coats. If you want the rusty bits smooth and flush, then car body filler after the Jenolite or Vactan. Sand down smooth and then under and top coats.
  19. I think I'd be inclined to get white road diesel fuel 'DERV' from a garage in cans for a while, at least until boatyards which have a high turn over of fuel are found. Many boat yards may have a very small turnover of fuel and most of it has probably been in their tank all winter. I never fill up at any marina or boatyard during or well into the spring. I have 3, 4 gallon Jerry cans and buy it from Tescos or Sainsburys and get me clubcard points. That filter needs more investigation.
  20. There's a very nice scenic spot just above Little Hallingbury marina by Tednambury lock here on the Stort which is a very popular place to tie up, many boats just come out from the marina, just around the corner to spend the day there. The river at that spot is almost twice as wide as it was a few years ago. Folk banging in stakes too close to the water's edgehave chipped it all away, you can see all the stake marks. It has now almost become a winding hole. The towpath which is only an unmade track has gradually moved over with the erosion, naturally as folk walk around.
  21. Some of you may know that the vast majority of the river Storts banks are not piled or camp-shedded as are many rivers banks.. Last summer we had one of those enormous ex Olympic games trip boats operating up here. The thing had bow and stern thrusters. It was wheel steered and was often out of control. When this happened and it drifted into the bank, usually in the same spots, they would thrust it off, which eroded and left big hollows in the bank. In one particular place at the tail end of our lock where it would wait while a boat was coming down its stern thruster damaged the bank so bad that it had to be reinforced and back filled for about 20 feet. I think the thing ran at a loss and has not come back this year. Our boat yard had two wide beams with bow thrusters, and the same thing was happening here. They were told not to use them to shove off with. There's no need to rev the nuts off an engine to maneuver near the bank or for casting off. The props thrust would not usually direct powerful jets of water at the bank when shoving off to go forwards, the rudder would normally be directing water outwards. Anyone with any sense would shove off with their foot or push off and jump on or use the pole for fear of the prop clouting something being so close to the bank.
