  1. Sorry if once again I've offended! I'm quite happy for anyone to contact me so long as it's not abusive, but I will try and remember to be more circumspect in future. Lucca seems to have touched everyone who has owned her.We sold our house to buy Lucca, she was everything I didn't want until I saw her then she was everything I'd ever wanted! Virginia Currer very kindly kept hold of her whilst the sale of our house went through. When we took possession of her only the engine room, bathroom and part of the galley had been done, there was a step ladder to get in from the front. My husband fitted out the back cabin and painted it pink for our daughter! Then we finished the galley fixed the stove in after which I did the two settees, had her re-painted and signwritten at Newbury. She was on the front of one of BW's calendars and filmed for TV going down Caen Hill Flight at Devizes. If Jam knows the current owner, if it's not being too nosey it would be nice to know if the settees I built in with the drop down ends are still on there and the steel shower. Also if Nelly is still going well (she's the engine)? Also I have lots of photos and paperwork that I can copy and send if they are interested. Kind Regards Cathy
  2. Hi Tillerlass, Lovely to find you after all this time! Please either contact me by poshratz at hotmail.co.uk or 0seven9612three6169 and I will try over the next couple of weeks to scan in some pictures and send them to you. Kind Regards Cathy
  3. George will be a great loss not only to his wife Sheilagh and Family, but to all of us who knew and loved him. He surveyed all our boats on the K&A, namely Lucca, Iona, Poshratz and Actis. He always took great care and advised honestly. He had a wonderful sense of humour and his seafaring stories were a treat. Every time someone gives me change from buying an ice-cream I can see and hear George saying in his 'Scottish' accent 'Spend it wisely' A lovely 'gentle' man
  4. Thanks Chris but i put them on from my iPad and I am not at all literate with all the google and photo stuff. I have just been on appollo duck and if you click on the photos they come up larger and the right way round.
  5. Thanks Hi hope this gets back to you. Thank you for your suggestion they are the right way in my account, do you know what I need to do to get them the right way round? Cheers
  6. Hi Poshratz and Actis are sadly both up for sale on Appollo Duck. Either singly or together. If you know anyone who might be interested please pass on.
  7. I am very sorry if I have caused any offence or worried anyone. I am new to the forum and will most definitely be more cautious in future. I have boated for many years and lived and continuously cruised for over 10 years and have never managed to cause so much offence. My husband and I owned Lucca back in the 90's and I still miss her very much. We sold her to a very nice young girl who after some time sold her, and we were interested to know how she is now.
  8. Does anyone know where the Narrowboat 'LUCCA' is? She is an Eddie Beasly 60ft Equinox tug
  9. Try 1Topstore they are about 4$ each they take a bit longer to come from china but are very good, otherwise simplyled a British company who are always developing and bringing out better LEDs to replace all light bulbs household and 12volt. Also to stop them going faulty you could fit inline voltage stabilisers. We got ours from Neil McRiven? At REUK on the Internet he is based in Oxford. We have 15 MR16's throughout our galley, saloon and bathroom when they are all on they dont even register on the amp meter.
  10. Hi Chris, I dont quite know what you mean by over tidied? Is it that the galley looks so good in the photo's? If so that is very deceptive as there has not been too much done to the inside, it is very simple with nothing fitted in the rest of the cabin apart from a stove and some lights! The genny is a Pramac 6kv with just 52db which is super quiet as most are at least 72db. When we were trading as a coffee boat It charged the batteries on both Poshratz and Actis, ran two fridges and a freezer, coffeee macine, electric kettle, microwave, panini machine, two ice cream makers and the hot water!! And overnight the inverter ran Poshratz and the fridges and freezer. As far as we are aware the hull is pretty good for its age (unlike me at times) but a survey would tell if there are any problems. I am aware that she is priced competitively we were fleeced when we bought her and I am not out to do the same to anyone else. I hope this information is useful Cathy ('er off the pair)
  11. Hi any boater(s) out there who are driving from the Walsall area to the Wiltshire (Swindon) area Friday or Saturday. We have Some boat plaques that need to be delivered for our clubs 40th anniversary. The chap who has made them's wife has died and cannot get them delivered to us. So if anyone is coming this way and would collect and deliver them to us we will pay your fuel.
  12. I sent a message via Appollo Duck saying I was interested in Actis. Did you get it?

  13. George has surveyed all our boats and we love him and his lovely long suffering wife Shela. I am sure he and his dog Piper will be sorely missed in the Barge at lunchtimes. We wish them good luck for the future and hope to see them often. Cathy, Robert and dogs 'Poshratz'. PS Whatever money you've got left George ''SPEND IT WISELY!!!''
