I have just bought a Petter PH2WRMR of unknown vintage with a BMC gearbox which looks exactly the same as on my AV2WRMR.
Is it an A or B box?
I have taken all the nuts off around the bell housing but the gearbox is refusing to come off. Has anybody experienced this problem?
Is it likely to be the bearing which I seem to recall is in the middle of the sungear cluster being a tight fit? Or could it be a worn spline problem?
The bell housing is loose as I can waggle it from side to side and up and down, it just will not pull back.
There is a small gap between the bell housing and the main engine but I am reluctant to start wedging it yet as the face is a sealing face for the gearbox oil.
