  1. Well I asked the same question on two forums of Facebook and it appears that a few people know of the boat and it's activities so you can take the question I have asked how you like
  2. I have not made any accusations and I certainly have not named the person on the said boat. I am just asking if anyone had heard anything, as I live on the shroppy I have a good reason to protect my property. To answer your question Junior, the boat was apparently last seen at bridge 21.
  3. It's not an accusationot I'm trying to find out if it's true as I am on the shroppy
  4. As anyone heard of a boat called green swan. I have just had information that it's owner as been breaking into boats on the shroppy apparently they are using an inflatable with an electric outboard. Does anyone know anything thanx
  5. We blacked the boat in September and used intertuf I did think about keelblack but decided against it perhaps next time when more long term information is known about it
  6. I used a cheap hot air gun from screwfix to remove my paint and anti slip from gunnels. Time consuming but effective, you might struggle with a scabbler and then you wouldn't get close to the cabin side and you would need a needle gun. This is how I took my roof back to bare metal it took me about 8 hours on a 70ft boat and it was hard work
  7. If I connected the wm straight to the genny why would I need to turn the setting off on the victron as it would not be running through the victron.
  8. I have not tried the w/m direct yet perhaps when I'm off work. How do I get the sensitivity of the inverter/charger changed would it damage the inverter
  9. The land line is connected from the generator to the land line input of the boat. The charging switch is selected on the inverter and control panel which can be seen in thread above. This is how I have always run any 240v on the boat when a landline is connected into the boat through the landline point of the boat. The inverter is only used in the inverter mode in the evening when there is no land line connected and power is coming from the batteries to supply the 240v tv The inverter is a victron energy phoenix multiplus 12 volt 1600va 70amp which I presume as been on the boat since it was built in 2005. We have lived aboard for 4 and 1/2 years and it as never been changed. The Washing machine is a zanussi Electrolux, timeline 1400 jet system 6kg model ZWD1480W again I presume this as been on the boat since being built. Neither inverter or washing machine as given us any grief in the past until we started using the Kipor KDE 6700T diesel generator. Is there anyway around this problem can I use the washing machine hooked straight to the genny will it give me problems. I hope this helps
  10. Assist? What is that. No problems when running any other 240v electrical items using the same way
  11. The landline shuts down for a few seconds causing the mains on and the either the bulk, absorption or float light to go off depending whatever stage of charge it is on at the time The switch would of been on the land line side. Washing machine does not interfere with anything when power is supplied through travel pack or hooked up on mains
  12. No the genny still runs and doesn't trip but the power on the boat trips for a few seconds then it resets itself. No tripping when using other electrical items.
  13. Just wondered if anyone can help me with a genny query. I recently brought a second hand kipor 5kva diesel generator to help run things on the boat rather than keep running the boat engine. It runs the immersion, microwave and a 2800w kettle without any problems, not all appliances are on at once. But when I try and run the washing machine which is rated at 2200w it keeps tripping the boat electrics for a short while and then they come back on and then trip again. The Washing machine works with no problems off the travel pack and as also run off marina electrics without any problems. But it is playing up with the genny, as anyone got any ideas how I can overcome this problem. Thanks
  14. I think I need to empty the toilet seat dog or change the ballast around lol ? cheers
  15. The galaxy s5 used to use a cable but on the s7 it can only be done by mirror imaging. You need to ensure it is a smart tv. Thats how I watch films from my phone and I have no problem with buffering or anything. You can use showbox or bobbie movie box all supply the latest films and are of good quality
  16. Try the fellow at R W Davies at saul I have an incline that he started his days with Mike from Stoke on trent boats. All the best
  17. I think it costs a lot more to sign write or make a design on the bow I have seen a pair of bow designs for 50ish. But done by hand imo would cost a lot more
  18. Hi We would like to put a design on both sides of the bow on our narrowboat as anyone got any recommendations for a supplier of boat graphics and are they worth doing, will they last the test of time Thanks
  19. Well coming up the shroppy I doubt some of the boats are worth 37k it all depends on how frugal you want to live and what colour beer mats you can use for a licence in the window ?
  20. We used magnetic tape. From ape tape I think but can be googled then had perspex cut to the same size and shape as the metal surround inside the boat. Put A side to perspex and B side to surround then perspex clicks on and off when required. We don't suffer with condensation like before. It cost about £400 in total for 11 windows I can upload pictures if you are interested
  21. Thanks for the answer I just asked as I am in dry dock at the moment. I have never tightened the gland nuts but always used the stern grease as often as possible. We have had the boat for 4 years and there as never been a lot of water that comes in. But I am unsure how to change the stern gland if I needed to.
