  1. Good morning I wondered if someone could help me configure my inverter charger to my batteries. I have a mk5 to USB to change the settings. There is no shore power but power from two generators 1 x Honda EU 20i and a kipper 6.7kva. 980watts of solar Inverter charger multiplus 12/3000/120 European / uk model. Batteries trojan t105s 6v x 6 total 675 amp arranged in parallel/ series to provide 12 v Bulk 14.82 Float 13.50 Equalization 16.20 First question can the victron inverter be powered up off a 12v battery to allow settings to be changed before installation of the unit. What settings are important and what will need changing as there seems a lot of settings when I have googled them. If it's easier to explain and give a talk through please feel free to email me Thank you for your help. -
  2. Tony Brookes and WotEver Thanks guys for the infomation please see the attached email I received from trojan. I'm still waiting for a reply from the victron agent telling me how to change the battery settings on the mppt. 80 % is a big discharge The figures I sent were Bulk 14.82 Float 13.50 Equalization 16.20
  3. Thank you I might email victron and ask there advice on battery choice as there doesn't seem to be an option for trojan lead acid batteries
  4. I have 960w solar connected to a victron mppt 150/85 and I am going to fit 6 x trojan t105 batteries in series / parallel. The settings on the mppt via bluetooth are in the pictures below. Question 1 What do the float, absorption and equalization need to be set at for these batteries. Question 2 What battery do I choose on the battery presets as that is all the options I have Question 3 What do I do with the Algorithm setting Thank you.
  5. Reading different things today and have found that the second option of connection is best as it charges and discharges the batteries equally. Rather than the first option which seems to work the first battery differently because it's the first on the connection. I'm no electrician but just trying to get my head around things and learn what I can before tackling and making changes so all advice is appreciated

  11. We are off grid using 960w of solar, genny and boat engine for charging.
  12. Just wondering about traction batteries are they worth considering will they benefit me more than ordinary leisure batteries.
  13. Can you buy the pcb for a bmv 700 battery monitor separately, the one that fits on the shunt and if so where is the best place to get one. I think the pcb on my battery monitor as given up the ghost as it's showing all weird readings I've had the same problem before with my bmv 600 but I changed it for the 700 but after a couple of years this one is now starting to play me up. Cheers
  14. As a matter of interest what would you expect to pay roughly to have an old heater taken out and replaced with one of these. Are they easy enough to fit yourself
  15. Where's the best place to get one of these water pumps from and roughly how much are they
  16. Any reccomendations for someone to supply and fit a new heater in the market drayton Shropshire area already tried ed shires, stuart hodges but they are busy at the moment
  17. Trying to weigh up the pros and cons of either trying to get the mikuni mx60 repaired which as now been discontinued and been on the boat since 2005 and working well for us as liveaboards for the last 7 years and wondering how much longer it will last if I get it repaired. Or do I bite the bullet and go down the new road for either a new modern webasto or Espacher which would run more efficient. How much would a new one cost fitted for a 70ft boat needs to run 7 rads. What's the best for spares, efficiency, back up service, reliability etc. Pm me if you would like to give me a quote I'm in the market drayton area. But interested in any input and ideas
  18. I have been in touch with Ed Shires but unfortunately he is fully booked with work for the next couple of months.
  19. Hi Is there anyone around the market drayton area who can service / repair a mikuni mx60. Mine is working but running a bit noisy. Looked on the website and it looks as if parts are still available even though the mx60 as now stopped being produced. Cheers
  20. Any one around drayton who could install a webasto
  21. Thanks I'll take a look into it before the winter is upon us
  22. Where are the best prices for webasto and what size would I need for hot water and rads on a 70ft
  23. Have been advised that as a parts are difficult to get for my 2005 mikuni mx 60 I'd be best to change it for a webasto or espacher. Which is the most quietest of the two and what size would I need for a 70 ft to run both rads and heat hot water. Also looking for the one that offers a good supply of spares
  24. How do I wire it up and what switch am I looking for have you got a link
