  1. If you read the rules , they also state, if you are out in the country with no one else about, you can run your engine outside these rules., you did start off with a reasoned reply, but then let yourself down Why did you have your I Q tested, who questioned it , and for what reason…..
  2. Are you a bullying friend, back up other people to bully people out of their thoughts to agree with yours?
  3. And how’s that? Is he your friend, is he your boaty friend ?
  4. And I thought running your engine outside the rules was rude, oh well , I am in the minority.
  5. So in their defence, they say, they are intelligent, and they use that as a defence, and I ask, but are they, as their behaviour appears to show otherwise, to question that is rude. How British. However I like Britishness, but it is deployed in this instance without true reason sir.
  6. That was pretty much my reason for original question, but I think it is exceptional for me to find a reason, why I would need to run my engine after eight o clock, have never done it yet, it’s selfish behaviour in my opinion of those who do not plan ahead , or find more difficult options that might cost them money, easier to do what they think they need and possibly annoy other people.
  7. Is it not fair to question the intelligence of that of which is quoted, if it is a defence of their actions. ? So, what should we do when people are ruining our day, after a lovely cruise, we sit outside , glass of wine enjoying the view, and boat in front of you puts there engine on past the rule times. He may have excuses, beware, or not care.
  8. Well I think it’s part of the license agreement, so now I do not confront, unless I can’t stand it any longer, I report to canal and river trust, I did just that last night, snitch I know. Is it not fair to ask with which intelligence one is quoting ?
  9. My responses, maybe, it’s a discussion forum, I disagree with boaters, thinking the rules do not apply to them because of …. It’s not convenient, I can’t cope, I have to do as I wish because I have not planned ahead.
  10. Have you thought about going into a marina, rather than put put people into a situation where it would be rude not to say yes. So you also feel that the rules are not the rules, they are flexible, if they don’t suit you.
  11. Well there is always options, you took the easiest, which probably annoyed other people, did you have a nice day in work ,?
  12. Yeah, because , one time it turned into a physical fight on a river, once was a crying girl, whom I never spoke to just videoed her boat, and next lots of abuse, I am a cc, so these events are rare, because I have stopped complaining. I have no problem contacting people nicely, but their reaction has put me off doing it again.hence my question. That’s all it is , a question, why are you so confrontational. Only by your defensiveness, I will try not to moor by you.
  13. Hmm , not too sure about that, rules are rules, unless they don’t fit your circumstances. So did you have other options? I can think of a couple.
  14. Do you run your engine outside the eight to eight rule, ?
  15. I think I’m complaining about selfish people, some have a boat, I accept that, as said , I don’t confront after some bad experiences, but do you, or do you complain to crt, or do you just ignore it.
  16. At half past eight at night you advise me to move, or accept anti social rule breaking behaviour, wow , thanks for your input, but it doesn’t answer my question, I wasn’t asking for your advice, I was asking what you do, I have told you what I do.
  17. I have tried to not do anything, apart from complain to canal trust, as the three times before I have complained to boat owner, has not gone well. So now I don’t , but it gets so annoying when you want to enjoy last of these summer evenings , and boat ahead starts his engine at half eight at night, for an hour, and you can see he is watching tv.
  18. Or you could use your phone, no problem with reception there. Why buy walkie talkie instead, but I think I know the reason why some people would.!
  19. Cheers, but I don’t want todo it myself, I want to pay someone to do it for me.
  20. I went to bollington as earlier recommendation, as I was near, but although , I was disappointed, there was a boat who fix all cratch covers etc, so got a new window panel in Pram cover, a patch on corner rip in cratch cover, a couple of other patches, and a fixing replacement fitted, so not all bad. If I can’t find anything before, I will try kings lock, unless any other possible mobile recommendations.
  21. Sounds sensible, but will take best possible option at the time, it’s difficult to be in right place at right time, without having to wait around too long.
