  1. It was like that last September, obviously not been sorted since then.
  2. Astley green as afore mentioned is my preferred stopping point, nice pub, and bins if you turn left at the bridge, but they are hidden.
  3. I am moored with tyres for fenders,I will try tying the tiller to one side. The boat is draughted 30” stern and 18” bow. The rudder stock being loose in the bearings could be a possibility. I got a new bearing a couple of years ago, but there is some give in the tiller. Maybe have it looked at when it’s out for blacking. It’s too windy to turn boat around easily. Thanks for replies.
  4. Hi, when it’s windy, I can hear what appears to be my rudder, or something, bouncing back and forwards, creating a banging noise. This is when moored. So I have tied my tiller to straight ahead position, but still this annoying dun dun noise like it’s moving, but on o bservation, the tiller doesn’t move, so what could be causing it. It’s not just now, has been noticed in other moorings on windy days. Can’t think what it can be apart from rudder, but swan neck tied off straight.?

  6. You should have a choice as to which way to wind , if it is windy tomorrow. Which is handy, so don’t think u will have any problem with just 50’ , enjoy.
  7. Are u sure you have the stop cocks open, they may have been open and you turned them shut ?
  8. You should tell CRT what you are doing, I had to let water down from lock one last night on the Leigh branch, there is a problem with that stretch , so needs fixing. It’s emptying so fast , ridiculous to refill it every few hours, puts an hour on your journey.
  9. U could use vpn to watch football for free, apart from vpn cost.
  10. I find the Severn a bit laborious, apart from Upton, and stourport, and best of all Worcester, particularly when the races are on, but the Avon is glorious, some of the locks by the weirs are amazing, so picturesque. Rivers are a delight, but you have to know the mooring spots, I love being on them, and enjoy being off them for ease of mooring, good places to be in the summer though when the canals are full.
  11. Report them to crt. Not worth confrontation, it can go wrong.
  12. So it’s likely to be the switch, I will try there first before paying someone.
  13. I do take your point, thank you.
  14. The lights are working fine again now, but will get it looked at, worried about it shorting somewhere, maybe it’s moisture after cooking.
  15. Thanks, I will get it looked at.
  16. Hi, half of the lights in my boat cabin are only coming on as dim, the other half , to second switch come on fine. They are all LED, but why all of a sudden would one set be dim. Batteries are fine, and all other lights and power are fine, just one set of lights. Could there be a short somewhere, and do I need to get it sorted asap.? I have been getting a static type shock when touching the switch over last couple of days, but that may just be a coincidental. Any ideas what problem may be.? Thanks.
  17. I prefer to do the four counties clockwise, mainly because it’s easier going down the shroppie, because of the bywashes. You have to depend on luck regards which way boats are travelling in holiday boat time, it can work for you at busy times.
  18. Thank you, is that better than the flu wrap I featured, the wood and even the tiles were scarily hot last night, I am still not sure what to do. I put some supermarket foil up for tonight, £2.49 has solved problem pro tem
  19. So , thinking of getting this as a replacement, not happy with wood getting hot. Stick that on wall where took other stuff off ?
  20. Since the main benefit from foil-faced bubble wrap is due to its radiant-barrier facing, the product is basically worthless unless it faces an air space. So if it is facing an air space, as mine was, it’s radiant barrier effect works, the wood ,now exposed is getting hot, as before the foil,it was cool to touch, hot wood is worse than cool reflective foil.
  21. Hi, got the fire going hot, but only one third full, and the wall where I took that stuff down is hot to touch, mainly the edge nearest the fire, do you find this on your wood nearest the fire, it is quite hot, think this was my original thoughts before I put the aluminium up.It is measured bss compliant, but seems too hot to me again. Or is this normal ?
  22. Looks so much better off. Thanks again.
  23. So should of used this stuff, thanks for the education guys, how they say fire retardant at E is amazing to me, thanks for all replies.
