  1. Look more like Belgian 'spits' and do make enormous homes. There are plenty for sale in Belgium as they are now the babies of the commercial world. Have a look on www.fikkers.nl. They go for around 55,000euros unconverted.

  4. Haven't had a problem so far. Abroad need passport, in UK driving licence. Praps the staff don't know the rules?? Certainly sometimes they've never heard of poste restante!
  5. Poste Restante has always worked well for us, even for parcels,in fact have just picked one up today from our local P.O. but spose you'd have to go thru a 'proper' address first and then they send it on if via an Amazon type site.
  6. Mmm, wondered when someone would pick up on that with a 7 yr old. Praps they are home educating?
  7. No-one yet has pointed out the importance of first getting a mooring lined up, if needed, for school and work.
  8. Think I've found the problem, some advertising 'wizard' that had found it's way in. Have blocked it and so far so good.
  9. Tried deleting it from favourites but that hasn't worked. Too scared and ignorant to do the 'clean up'!
  10. This has begun to plague this site whenever I drop in: 'A script on this page is causing Internet Explorer to run slowly' etc, etc. Have I been hacked or is it you? It is only this site (so far!).
  11. Terneuzen's very easy and cheap (150 euros to be put in) and fun to get back to France from there if that's what you really want to do. My blog will give you some info but pm if you want.
  12. Will be ok now cos he'll have learnt from his mistakes and also have insurance, won't he?
  13. Not sure which one they'll use but something similar to my avatar I would think if that's any help. Have just checked their FB site and yes it's like this one.
  14. Have just had an unexpected call from Craftinsure asking permission to use a picture from our recent claim in a caption comp. on FB to win 2 tickets for the Boat Show end of March. Expect some of you could easily come up with a winner
  15. "A stuffed one". Skipper (who has just been growled at by our ungrateful terrier x, very x)

  18. Rely on friends and family to store stuff you think you can't get rid off. The people who bought our house kindly offered to keep on long time loan furniture made by Skipper that we couldn't get rid, just incase we ever go back to the land. Rest, charity shops are the fastest way. After 7 years, can't remember what we've got in store! And yes, it's a different mindset living on a boat which you will very quickly assimilate!
  19. Oh has he now finally got planning permission?
  20. I'm afraid this is the same man who's JCB hit Snail so not surprised at this. Ah, just seen previous post has beaten me to it! Fox's in March often have boats for sale so may be worth asking there and they are to be trusted!
  21. Have to say, I've never heard of Collidge and Partners. I use craftinsure, and they seem very professional too. But until one claim one never knows, it could all be a 'front'.... I'll contact Collidge and Partners next time I renew.... MtB Craftinsure (aka Zurich) were very good and prompt with decision making and payout on our claim last year. We will be renewing with them this year, assuming they'll cover Snail in Germany!!
  22. If you then coat it with 2 or 3 coats of Rustin's Plastic Coating, you can then put anything on it, however hot and it won't mind. Love my beautifully figured elm worktops on Snail.
