  1. Just heard on r4 news, sad. He was making g his way along a flooded towpath.
  2. I learned this year that hot gases are pushed up the flue by the colder, denser air on the outside of the stove.(Guy the bsc examiner from Portland basin, Ashton. He also said "vents for capacity of everything on at once" As for female end of pipe uppards, any tar drains down into fire?
  3. Stayed there several times. Its possible to moor on the offside on the moorings below the flats, or used to be. Last time we came thru I moored where the queue forms to go through the first lock so we could be up and away. I was woken by someone banging on the side at 3am, " there's been a body found in the last lock (up from rochdale 9) you have to be available for questioning" "Eh?" replied I, half asleep, "police, you have to stay around for questioning" " show me your badge" "why does everyone ask me that?" and wanders off muttering. In the morning when I spoke to the officer guarding the blue taped lock he said it was a local, being cared for in the community, pretending to be an officer. But that only happened once and was no great worry.

  6. First place to moor is Rose of Lancaster at chadderton, tho with a good crew you can get to slattocks in a day from piccadilly basin. Then an easy pootle through Rochdale to moor at Littleborough, or summit. Then 6hours down to baltimore at tod. Have fun.
  7. And it went without comments or discuss. Unnoticed?
  8. I have a Roberts duologic dab using a variable voltage converter 12v to 7.5 to power it. There's a 3.5mm line in socket to play mp3 from smartphone. Last freeplay dab would only play fm on battery, duologic is far more efficient, runs dab for several hours on internal bats (replaceable rechargeable, not wired in.) .mono sound good, also has a line out to get dab radio stereo thru powered speakers.

  12. Mmm. Love the taste of hot pussy.
  13. Re engine thermostats, in the old days they used to break "shut", so causing engine to overheat. Don't they now break "open" so the engine or calorifier just takes longer to warm up? I do recall testing them in a pan of hot water. If they do break shut then take them out, engine then won't overheat.
  14. I've met a Cart employee with cart gazebo and signage chugging at Todmorden and Sowerby bridge a few weeks ago, she was talking to cyclists etc to recruit them. afaik she tours the region.
