  2. Sorry, my bad, my typing skills are of the two finger sort and I keep messages short otherwise my brain will explode. Rang Tony and he confirmed that work would restart as soon as the weather improved, should be in the next 10/14 days, and moorings would be available mid March, he would be on site at the weekends, but did ask to give him a ring before setting off just to confirm. Mobile 07766301895.
  3. Hi, did talk to Tony today. Have sent you a PM with all the details.
  4. Hi, as a single handed boater I have a cassette toilet, which I, or any visitors do not use very often, it's crossed legs, pub toilets, or a poo box. (Google: "Poo Box", @ £16.) It's sturdy, so you can sit on it, bags you just chuck away 'they offer replacement bags, but I now use double shop bags', no mess, no smells. No pumpout fees, no wheeling of cassettes. Just dump in waste bins. Simple.
  5. Not sure, but I think it's a washing machine.

  7. I am reasonably careful when it comes to canal water, gloves on when down weed hatch, antiseptic hand gel handy, shower, glass of coke and a visit to Docs if feeling unwell after the inevitable dip, but was told the other day that Weil's disease has no known cure and is 100% deadly! Is this true? Thought antibiotics did the trick. Do I need to be worried?

  11. Hi. Downloaded all my CDs (450 of them) to my I Pod, so don't need CD player, got radio App downloaded to I Pod so don't need radio, got I Pod speaker deck, Argos £18. Sorted.
  12. As a single handed boater, I use a cassette toilet, then only when I have to, visitors cross their legs untill a pub comes into view, but an other option might be a composting toilet, more expensive and larger I know, but once up and running the dried residue only needs to be emptied 2/3 times a year and no pump out charges, ideal I would have thought for a crew of 5 or more.
  13. As a single handed boater, there is only song for me. "Solitary Man", by J.Cash.
  14. Planning to use it. Last time I spoke to Barby, 2/3 weeks ago, they were on track to flood basin in November. Any one got further updates?
  15. Hi, I know I will sound like a big girls blouse, but if I were to put on an electric blanket during the night, 1500 inverter, would I have battery power in the morning? Many thanks.
  16. Hi. Any info on side hatch windows? Have seen then on a NB, but cannot find a link. Many thanks.
  17. Hi, I am a 62yr old white male, now retired. Am selling my property and getting a new build to sail singlehanded, should be ready November. Have had narrowboat experience and taken a 3 day training course. I have the time and could use the experience for my forthcomming livaboard life. If interested contact me anthonyburnell at aol dot com. Tony.
  18. Hi Mary, based in Brighton, but am mobile. Tony.
  19. Hi Mary. Retired white male, 62, having a new build on hold due to hitch in sale of property, was due end August, now November/December. I think that you would prefer females, but as I will be going single handed soon, I need practice, and my time is my own, so if you think you can use me for short/long time, please get in contact. If you do not reply I understand. Tony. Contact anthonyburnell@aol.com.
