  2. Simple way is to fit a trolling valve to the gearbox, provided it will take one. Did this on PRM500 worked a treat set engine revs then use valve as throttle. From memory max revs about 1300. http://www.prm-newage.com/p14-prm500
  3. Simplest way of dealing with a 32a outlet to 16a inlet is a 32a plug ct a short length of 6mm cable to waterproof box with 16a DP MCB in the box and then a 16a socket. You could use 16a RCBO instead of MCB if you really want a delux jobbie. All legal and safe.
  4. Since unlike many I dont do blame I'm blaming nothing, I just prefer 230v fridges. The combi fault is an interesting one though as the inverter works fine and switches when it should, unfortuately I never notice when it goes off, its happened twice to my knowledge, once while we were away over xmas and the Eberspacher flattened the batteries and destroyed itself by killing its combustion motor.
  5. Whilst this is true on our moorings we occasionally get power glitches and the charger doesn't always come back on, it appears to be OK but is doing nothing, cycle the power switch and its back on. When this happens the fridge being 230v doesn't drain the batteries, last week the charger was off for 4 days we only used 7% of our batteries it was only by chance that I looked at SG to see it reading 93....
  6. One of the reasons I will always go 230v is that when on the moorings, which is more time than cruising its run off the shore power so no battery drain.
  7. The ones we use are magnetic so not A4/316didn't check the spec of the ones in the link just the type of bolt.

  9. If you are refering to the bolts I posted then they are steel.
  10. Most washing machines wont run on a MSW inverter. We have a Candy 1000 on the boat which has replaced our Zanussi both work really well. At present the Zanussi is in the cottage while the extension is being built, once that is finished it will be up for sale as we will have the room for a full size machine.
  11. Going up that way in September, bow saw and long handled loppers at the ready. If I need to I will cut back sssi or not
  12. Simple answer no.Reasons once they ha been put under strain then they can work loose. They work best in thin sheet metal I have just had to replace 20 due to customer misuse! Where we have to put in a secure blind fixing we use these https://www.orbitalfasteners.co.uk/en/products/m8-x-50-blind-bolt-stainless-steel-a4-9-24mm-grip-range-bb0850a4asm?utm_medium=google_shopping&utm_source=google&utm_campaign=google_shopping&gclid=Cj0KEQjwuJu9BRDP_-HN9eXs1_UBEiQAlfW39mGGPqestbYuydDASSG85RQIv1FfIvlBarVbw9hnafoaAlQm8P8HAQ
  13. I hav for years used Asda Biological washing liquid. no smell and no bad chems like blue. not sure if its ok for septic tanks but cant see why not
  14. We have a particularly noisy wake up call most summer mornings. On our home mooring our next door neighbour is always up early on a weekday and likes his morning cigarette whilst leaning on his hatch. This is usually accompanied by the loudest of farts that you have ever heard, easily loud enough to wake the neighbourhood.
  15. And that was without the aircon and microwave
  16. Me on the BargeWashing machine Immersion Battery charger 25amps for a surprisingly long time. Nothing tripped mind you my shoreline has a 16amp K rated mcb (RCD covers 3 outlets)
  17. I realise that CT are for AC only but I assumed it works on the same principle as the DC current clamp meter that we all love so much.
  18. Do you need some help with the tree on your shoulder.
  19. I'm quite tempted by this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/171906112639 For voltage and current Depends of course how big the CT hole is.
  20. OKYou just use the genset, make sure it has a big fuel tank. Put genset on at 8am Go to pub Come back from pub at 8pm Shut down genset. You dont then have to listen to it and 12hrs a day for 2days might be enough Or use all the daylight hours over the weekend to go boating

  22. Its what I have done for years ever since, on a much earlier boat, the tiller arm caught the lock wall and bent the swan neck.
  23. It is said you can tell a lot about a man from the state of his rear fenders.
  24. What was the last boat called that disappeared completely like this? Blowed if I can remember......
