  1. I had a 2 amp one on the boat running a Huawei B818 for years it's now in the caravan along with one of the 10 amp versions running the TV/Soundbar. The 2 amp one must be 6 years old😲
  2. These are what I use, https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/204536075277? If you need higher current then https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/314819408103? Been working well for years.

  4. There are several similar boats on the Torridge Estuary, been there for years. https://maps.app.goo.gl/Uo9qjrfftrb3jW669
  5. I have a 20amp Sonoff on the van. Bit fiddly to set up but once done you can read it from anywhere provided it has WiFi.
  6. Is your router going to be within the length of the cable from an antenna on the top of a 3 metre pole? The loss from extending the cable will negate any gains from raising the antenna🤔 Unless of course you are using cable such as LDF450 😉
  7. In which case a Victron is about as good as you can get
  8. One here https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/326047921302?
  9. One of my previous boats used to suffer condensation under the front deck, so much so that once a year at the begining of summer I had to aqua vac the water out from the bilge. 😱
  10. £400 a tonne at my local place. So £10 a Battery.
  11. I've got to sort the camera mount out as it's a bit wobbly. Most of you won't have been on this canal but it's the second closest to my home, nearest one is closed for dredging but will follow later All are raw video as recorded, haven't learnt to edit yet 🤔

    Baked potatoes

Totally reliable method. For a single medium potato 5 minutes in microwave Spray with fry lite sprinkle of salt 10 minutes in the Air fryer at 180. Adjust times depending on size/number of potatoes
  13. https://visdeurbel.nl/en/the-fish-doorbell/ From the link😲 Every spring fish migrate upstream, in search of places to spawn. They swim through the centre of the city of Utrecht. Unfortunatly, the boat lock is closed during spring. You can help the fish. Do you see a fish? Press the Doorbell! All the photos are collected. When there are enough fish waiting, the lock will be opened.

  16. Clashes with the Premiership Rugby Cup Final and Gardeners World one of which I have to record 😟
  17. At Blackthorn Lake Marina Three 4g is fine during the day when all the residents are at work however it drops to almost nothing in the evening when they return as they all seem to stream TV 🤔 A classic example off cell overload.
  18. Only if the system isn't set up properly🤔 Our areas don't overlap one is upstairs at one end of the house the other downstairs at the opposite end so even with different SSID switching happens as you reach the bottom of the stairs. If I go into the garage or workshop it switches back to the upstairs network as it's immediately overhead. The third one is generally not used apart from the two smart TV. Plus all the AP are fed with cat6, there is no WiFi back haul which speeds things up a lot. Using one SSID requires WiFi 6 and unless all your devices are less than 12 months old they may well nor support it. Plus I'm not about to spend money on new tech when I have a system that works just as well.

  20. My house is split into three 5ghz zones all fixed on different frequencies so they don't interfere with each other everything switches between them seamlessly. I only use 2.4ghz for service items such as Solar, Immersion heater etc, both bands have different SSID and are completely separate. I did run it combined but it's quicker and more reliable like this. Similar in the caravan the 2.4ghz is only for control stuff and the 5ghz is for normal use.
  21. The ones I looked at were 802.11b/g/n, so 2.4ghz and 5ghz hence my comment.
  22. If the iPhone has connected to the 2.4ghz WiFi and the PC to the 5ghz WiFi then the iPhone will have lower speeds. Same phone to my WiFi from same position. 5ghz 25mbs 2.4ghz 7.5mbs It will always connect to the strongest signal which is usually 2.4ghz which is why my 2.4ghz is disabled 😉
