  1. Hi Alan, my conclusion to all this after extensive searching, is the tin I have will be craftmaster `normal` range as it was bought off the shelf. I hadn`t realised they did a masons range, I will be pursuing this line. Thankyou to all that contributed
  2. I’m not sure there will be a number on as it was mixed by Supertune automotive, they aren’t mixing anymore
  3. I’ll have a closer look next week when I’m onboard 👍
  4. So there must be other midnight blue paint jobs with masonsP type I would like to hear from anyone who’s changed from masons, what did you use, what shade did you find to be a very close match. I’ve been looking down the epifanes and hmg routes, not too happy with craftmaster as it has too much of a purple hew
  5. A little assistance required ??!! So when I`m touching up, which seems to be more regularly than I`d wish, I use low tack frogtape, I used to think was the one to use. But I still get a slight bleed and never seem to achieve that go to sharp straight line. The other matter happens when I peel the tape off and it pulls paint off with it, so a small job always turns out bigger than expected. What am I doing wrong?
  6. The numbers on our gas oven control knob are wearing out, I am struggling to find a replacement. So I wondered if anyone on here has a similar model if you could post a photo of your oven knob. The spacing as far as I can make out between 3,6 is quite a big gap. I will have a go at repainting the numbers on
  7. How can this speed test be so different
  8. Thankyou to everyone who contributed to this thread I found it very helpful. To the degree that I now have my Poynting ( the new 5g one) Huawei router and 3 unlimited sim, great last night had mega signal, what’s happened tonight, can’t seem to get anything to load despite showing 4clicks on the router. I must say the weather is pants tonight, any suggestions , I forgot to say we’re in the same place only 2/3 boatlengths different
  9. This may sound silly to some tech geeks but if I’m watching telly most evenings and possibly either catch up or you tube, would 80 gb be enough I like this option
  10. That sounds quite flexible, and as we’re not livaboards, we won’t need it all the time
  11. I’m thinking of upgrading my current tv situation, presently using a intellian freesat but we need better phone signal. So I have bought a Poynting antenna and I’m wondering what you folks have found to be the best deal in the way of router and data sim, I’m thinking about unlimited as we will use it for tv, interested to hear views

  13. Found this little fella thumbing a lift this morning, can anyone identify it 😍
  14. Narrowboat toilets don’t flush into the canal, even though in some places it might seem so, they go into a tank, to be emptied at specific points 🤣😜🥴
  15. After reading an article in the waterways world about putting Ariel bio tabs into the loo to kill smells, article states it works and nothing wrong with the practice. Anybody have any experience of this, what thoughts?? I wouldn’t be too sure, the thought comes to mind about it not being from the body, going through the loo system
  16. On this subject of paint : does anyone have a replacement idea for the black satin gunwhale paint that used to be Andy Russel or 3p
  17. Firstly I would like to wish everyone a safe and Happy Christmas, So I was thinking of treating le boat to a battery monitor, and am thinking about the nasa marine BM2, but on looking through t`internet I can see there are cheaper models. Now I know about you get what you pay for !!! but does anybody have any good/bad experiences with anything of this nature, and which one would be of most help. Many thanks in advance
  18. Calling those of you out there with an intellian tv system on board, I have seen a few narrowboats with these domes on board. What I need to know is where or who is out there that can service/set the damn thing up properly Any help appreciated
  19. The outdoor socialising rules change in the second section of reopening. From Mar 29, six people from six different households are allowed to meet outside, meaning the so-called ‘rule of six’ returns. Alternatively, two households can meet outside. This means two families, who potentially together total more than six people, will be allowed to meet. This can happen in both outdoor public spaces and in back gardens. The 'stay at home' guidance will be dropped. There will also be a significant loosening in how far people can travel to see someone outside. While people will still be encouraged to minimise travel, there will not be punishments for someone who drives a few hours for a meet-up outside, then returns that day. Particular attention to the last paragraph on travel
  20. Yay, after next Monday we can travel to see our boats although we still can’t stay overnight, who’s going to check their boats

    Excel coal

Yes we’ve used oxbow red and am thinking we’ll have to go back to it, the only downside is it’s not smokeless

    Excel coal

We also have but locally to us recently we can only buy excel in the yellow bag with no mention of it being oxbow. Oxbow tell me they don’t bag into yellow bags. What bugs me is I can tell when we burn it that it’s different but consistently keep being told it’s just the same just bagged different
