  8. Thank you for the clarification! Nipper
  9. Maybe, but they wouldnt admit to anything, and pobably argue as usual! Nipper
  10. Well, Matty wasn't to wrong was he. We have all been herded just like sheep, and for me, I now have this very nasty taste in my mouth! Nipper
  11. Most suppliers would exchange a blue one for a red one and the other way around. That's what i did anyway! Nipper

  13. Thanks GoodGurl. So, just for clarity, does that mean that, yes, the visitor moorings time limits have been extended? Bar steward!
  14. Hi all! Just as an aside to most of the currant topics, like sheep, scaffold poles and zombies etc, perhaps I could be allowed to ask a boaty question? Now that the Winter Maintenance plan is about to come into operation and most Constant Cruisers have worked out a plan for cruising this winter, although, I don't know about others, for me, it has seemed a little more difficult this year. My question is has there been any notice from C.A.RT. about any changes of mooring allowances to visitor moorings this year. Last year they sent out a notice that most visitors moorings will be extended to 14 days, unless there were notices saying anything different. I found that to be quite useful at certain times last year as others did. Nipper
  15. Funny you should say that, as it seems to me that everytime windows updates i loose a program or two! The last update I lost Adobe Reader from my desktop. I really noticed the loss until I wanted read a pdf file and up popped a pdf reader from Microsoft, but it wanted money as a donation or something like that! I declined the invitation and re-downloaded Adobe Reader anyway! Strange things are afoot I believe! Nipper
  16. One on the boat and one with relatives, swapped over every now and then! Nipper
  17. If it's gone for good It's a great pity, as there will be nothing to wash the dogs s..t of your boots anymore, that place seems to be a bad place to et it on your boots just as you step off the boat with your mooring lines!
  18. I also lost a lot of GB's the other week from 3. But, I contacted 3, and they put it down to me backing up my computer to a cloud. It also took a very large chunk out of my 64GB's I have with EE too! i have since learned the error of my ways and got rid of the Cloud back up storage that i had just joined and realised that as I have two external hard disk drives already, I could buy a third decent external hard drives for the amount it cost me! Cloud storage although a great way to back up your stuff, but it is not for mobile internet users. Anyway, its all very well stopping your windows 10 updates, but your gonna have to update sometime, and if you only have the mobile connection, will have to bite the bullet and keep windows 10 updating at cost to your data allowance! 19. Well said Matty, you have put the words together far better than i was thinking of doing! Ah, the days of Gibbo spitting feathers at someone who had the audacity to to even suggest that he was wrong. That bought it's own humor, knowing full well that when Gibbo had finished, you could imagine him chuckling to himself, seemingly knowing that everyone else was doing thing the same, was a touch of magic that hasn't been seen on this forum for ages. Yes, there used to be aggravation from some, but that was usually given short thrift by the others and most stuff calmed down quickly. Now, in my view, the aggravation comes from another part of the forum and, to be honest, is tainted it far worse than a squabble between two knowledgeable forum members could ever do! In my mind a forum should be a place where you can go and seek help and knowledge from others without having to look over your shoulder to see if the police man is looking! So, well said Matty and indeed Calt too. And yes ,we probably are sheep, but there are a lot of them in this field! Nipper
  20. CART had one of their hoppers with a crane on it on site today, apparently it couldnt lift th car and was still there when i passed by around 1 ish!
  21. I cruising most of the system and I have found that EE is by far the fastest and strongest of signals, givin e 4G the vast majority of the time . This compared to my 3 contract sim that can only give me 3G (as i understand 3 have not got around to getting 4G) this sim is now reduced to a back up sim. With my EEsim, I have 32GB for £23.33 plus vat and then it is dubled up as an add on for free. Giving me 64GB for the princely sum of £28 inc vat For my phone, I have the a Loyalty extra sim for £23.99 inc vat that gives me unlimited calls and texts and 6GB of data to enable me to tether my phone, should i run out of data. Umfortunatley, my 3 sim is contracted for another 13 months, so be very aware that deals are getting cheaper and do think about what your signing up to! Nipper
  22. I have the Travel pack and wouldn't be without it. I use Ed Shiers for all my Travel Pack Service and spares. (07922 163072 or email ed@fc-marine.co.uk). He will post those spares for you to a place of your choosing, so you can be up and running with the least aggravation. He has come out and sorted a little problem i had a couple of years ago and charges a very reasonable amount for the service and he is a nice bloke as well! My main alternator failed last year and Canal and River Rescue did a poor job of getting it rewound for me, that Travel Pack came into it's own providing me with power untill Ed came out and fitted a new alternator within a few days. Coxes may be good at doing what they do and i am not knocking them at all but, for me, it's the guy who works on his own and gives a good service and comes to you that will get my work anytime!
