I have a confession. Once upon a time I used to occasionally visit "Thunderboat" Not for it's posts, which I too often found unpleasant in manner. But for it's photographs, compared to the then sparse offerings on this site. I yearned for more, which provoked my request that initiated this thread. And I have just accused somebody else on another thread of nostalgia! Now this thread, has become a wonderful modern history reference resource, and constant source of eye candy. It certainly has far outgrown my modest expectations thanks to the many contributors, but especially to Peter Scott who has contributed so many cross referenced photos. It is an anchor thread on this forum, for me and I suspect for many others. All because once upon a time, Thunderboat was actually better, in this regard.

Two boats have been past in the last week that have lain empty and abused for a few years. Kestrel was evicted from CRT waters and has been on the Nene unlicenced for about 6 years, finally rescued by Malcom Burge in a deal with the EA. Archimedes also came past looking not too bad considering its 10 years with no love shown, Ara wasnt following though.

At the Central London law firm I worked for until I retired a decade ago, we used to write off charges of less than £30 that were outstanding at the end of an accounting period as it was reckoned to cost that much to raise and process the invoices and other paperwork. So I guess the handling charge amount is not unreasonable.

Correct, Webasto/eberspacher/Mikuni are not pressure jet, they are evaporative. Pretty sure a refleks isn’t pressure jet either, it’s drip feed.

Woah, before cutting a hole check that there are no cross members or other braces behind the head lining or you might end up cutting through them as well Phil
