  14. In my view one needs to have an Anode, Cathode and electrolyte making a corrosion cell before it can be called a power supply. An anode on it's own is just a lump of metal.

  30. Replaced all the pipework connecting 3 rads to my (new) Webasto ThermoTop C, which was plastic (speedfit), with 22mm copper. Worked at 2nd attempt at firing up, with no leaks. The Webasto itself was installed by Steve at Kings Lock and I have designed and installed 3 radiators and a blower and associated pipework (though I have not tried the blower yet). Early days I know, but dead chuffed!

  34. I liked the quote from CRT - Regional director at the trust Adnan Saif: “I’d like to assure residents that there are regular inspections and maintenance at Earlswood Reservoir. “In England, maintenance of reservoirs is highly regulated with all identified works having to be undertaken by law. “The trust’s specialists are carrying out investigations as part of that stringent inspection and maintenance regime......" Didn't they say that about Whaley Bridge as well?

  41. That is on the internal face side so would not stop rodents getting into the void between the lining and roof. I bought some cheap computer fan finger guards which with a bit of bending fit into the mushroom. They need cleaning every couple of years as they catch fibres etc which will eventually restrict the air flow.

  42. I have a shut off valve in both fuel feed & return lines for this very reason. I would fit one when the fuel level has dropped to a safe level. added - my views on the bss, as per your comment above, shows this is yet another example of the poor way in which the bss is written. The bss does require all fuel feed lines to comply with emergency shut-off requirements as per 2.13.1. It seems reasonable to argue that a return is not a feed especially as it fails to define a fuel feed line, therefore is not included in this requirement. But in your case a return line under certain circumstances becomes a feed, at which point in my opinion it must be included because it is now a feed. It seems the bss did anticipate this by stating later in that section that ALL fuel lines below the top of the tank must comply with this section. Basically the section heading is wrong. Probably the result of committee edits and a failure to adequately proof read before issue.

  43. The loss of passed down knowledge and commonsense, has been superceded by the need for regulations and blind adherance. No questions - no knowledge - no commonsense. Monkey reads - monkey obeys. The World is poorer for it.
