Nothing to do with this idea of yours, but I used to have a very naughty cat called Fat Freddy.

But keep a cassette loo in a cupboard somewhere for when it’s desperately needed.

Sam of course is right and there are two sides to the Loo problem. I would never have a dump through though and ripping this one out to replace it with an HDPE tank would be difficult.....so replacing with a cassette is the obvious place to be. However, then you are carrying buckets of sh*t around every 3 days and constantly looking for places to empty them. I much prefer taking my boat to a little man, for him to pump it out, each month.

Yeah, that will teach him to ask stupid questions ?

I’ve a small bath and it’s great. Perhaps used once a month as a bath (if by a water tap) otherwise I shower in it. If I had a wider and longer boat then I’d have a full size bath for sure. Toilet choice? It’s got to be cassette. I rarely hear of problems with a cassette but hear of nightmares with pumpouts. But each to their own. I’ve seen engines where there could be a luxury bathroom. Mad.

Then why did one sneeze at me the other day?

When we bought out boat in Croatia we had to apply to the Minister Of Maritime Affairs for permission to de-register from the Croatian list of vessels. then the document had to be notorised. We have now registered it on the UK SSR (Small Ships Register) but it is just a voluntary register. We have retained the registration markings as it gives other vessels something to 'call' rather than boat heading 'XYZ' I believe it would be beneficial to buyers and sellers if the SSR was mandatory.

Whilst you always feel sympathy for anyone conned out of their hard earned money, words fail me when it is 90% 'self-inflicted'. You meet a couple of total strangers in the middle of nowhere (not even at a mooring / marina) you hand over £4500 and say thanks a lot -see you in 3 weeks 200 miles away. No mention of surveyor, seeing any boat documentation, proof of address, etc etc etc. How about paying a deposit (say, sufficient to cover the transport) and pay the balance on arrival.
