  8. Gosh, what an exciting life you live...

  9. Is everyone going to live and work at either end of HS2 track? Otherwise the commuting to the ends is more wasteful in time and energy than any saving HS2 could make.

  15. Once again the fallacy surfaces that HS2 is simply a connection between London and Birmingham. EVERY city north of Birmingham will also benefit from faster trains using the new line as will EVERY community on the WCML south of Birminham having room on the classic lines for better services as will EVERY motorist on the M1 seeing less HGVs, much freight having been transferred from road onto the classic lines. 23. I agree - the role played by Medusa is out of all proportion to its small size! Imagine the grandstand view she had while the invasion fleet steamed past and thank goodness that the visibility stayed reasonably clear, otherwise there might have been a different outcome. Another small vessel that played a key role was a midget submarine - an X craft normally manned by a crew of 5 but with a couple more for this event. She acted as a radio beacon in the approach lane to a forward position off the beaches and went across to be ready initially for the planned date of 5th June. When this date was postponed for 24 hours, she submerged and spent the time sitting on the sea bed just off the beaches. Brave men, and we owe them a debt of gratitude which we should never forget. 28. I am just going outside and I may be some time. Issuing warnings to members without citing the post they are being warned for or the posting guideline they have breached illustrates to me the contempt in which the management here holds the members. I was warned twice last night with no explanation of why. I can probably guess but I shouldn't have to. It would be common courtesy to tell members which rule they have breached breached and in which pos but Team Mod elect not to. I find this simply insulting and I don't want to be part of a forum that treats its members like this, so I'm taking a break from CWF. Just so you know, LadyG and Lola.

  30. And that is a fault with the current from the battery causing the problem, not from the controller. I am sure your cables are rated above 40 amps to avoid volt drop

  33. Sydney wears a harness rather than a collar as he tends to pull in a collar but not in the harness. We have tried a few different ones but have found the best for him to be a Barbour one which is wearing really very well. It wasn't expensive. About £17 from memory and seems much better made than some we tried at a similar price. ETA: this doesn't flatten or Matt his hair which is good really as with his mixed coat he does Matt easily.

  39. But it will presumably reduce demand for road and aeroplane fuel by a large amount at the same time. Being a boater, and therefore spending lots of time in transport corridors, I've never understood why people are silent about road and motorway building but get upset about railways. Unless it's because the people complaining are happy to drive their cars wherever and whenever they want, and hang the residents on either side of the road, but would never use more environmentally and socially benign rail transport. 40. I wouldn't risk not having one. I used to work in a magistrates' court and the fines and costs imposed on those without rod licences were very substantial. There were lots of cases being brought too!

  47. Well worth it though, no point scrimping hey Rach. I could of got it a bit cheaper from a local supplier but they come in 6m lengths only and need to be ordered in, and collection is a pain. Also got all parts delivered together, cant be bothered faffing about to much nowadays. It is a bit harder kida, 318 SS / A4 you mean? Just a matter of slowing the drill nit down a bit and use good bits.

  49. HS2 is bar far the greatest obscenity ever to arise in my lifetime. The whole thing is uneccesary, fifty years too late and abhorrent.
