  2. We can't be arsed with switching on and off, we just have plenty of batteries to cope and charge once a day. Same with laptop, we leave it plugged in 24/7.

  3. Before you experiment with drastic measures, have you measured the temperature inside your fridge. Colder fridge = more power. Use a thermometer to check temperatures on the different shelves, (cheap electrical ones with remote sensors work well), check the calibration if you can. Allow a decent time interval after closing the door to allow internal temperatures to stabilise. Recommended temperatures are 3 - 5 C . Adjust fridge thermostat to get target 5C. Also ensure you have plenty of ventilation round the heat exchanger for more efficient operation.
