It's an op-amp..set up as differential mode.. connected to switch on a light...an LED...when temperature falls below that set by the 'pot'...designated VR.

Do I get a prize...?

Unlikey to be that accurate though...as temperature of external components would also affect the point at which it operates.

You can't really beat the old fashioned thermostat with a bimetal switch.
