Nah, Ive just paid £4.80 for another one of the Cloudwater beers and it was very good, but still lots of stuff at £3.80.

Can anyone advise on a boatyard on or near the Caldon Canal, Staffordshire, where I might get a GRP 28 foot cruiser out of the water for a survey and onward road transport. Also, any recommendation for a surveyor in that area would be helpful please. Many thanks

Once upon a time I could tie quite a few knots, and I think the midshipman hitch was one of them, I didn't know the name. As well as sailing knots, i had a few horse knots and hitches, which is why my bowline is non standard, the problem is that once the muscle memory takes over, its difficult.to re program. I just do them automatically. The figure of eight is a stopper knot, to stop a rope running through a block for example, but ive really stopped using it

I would moor on the towpath side below the first lock just to the west of the already mentioned basin that is now out of bounds. If you look on Google Earth you can see a couple of boats moored there. There are bollards and rings. I have seen boats moored there almost every time ive walked or cycled past.
