I have just had the same question and I found that local chandlery suppliers did not stock them. So I looked in Yell.co.uk on the internet for non-ferrous alloys (aluminium, brass, etc) in my local area. I was lucky to find one just round the corner and ordered the brass strips to the exact measurements I required. At almost 180 cm each they came to a grand sum of £45 for the pair. Delivery took 4 days. I plan to fasten them to the existing steel runners with a metal bonding adhesive and face the inside of the hatch with oil rich hardwood strips.
