We have not yet purchased the stove but I wanted to put the hearth and to tile the back and sides. What is the best material to use for the hearth?

I am about to fit a stove into our boat, can anyone give me any advice on which hearth to put the fire on and also how to fix it down. regards Stuart

Help please, We have been trying to help a young man who cannot get his engine to run. The boat has been in the marina and has not been started for about a year. The first thing we did was to charge the starter battery, then we put 25 litres of fuel in the tank. The bleed screw on the top of the first fuel/water filter was removed but no fuel came through. The drain plug on the bottom could not be turned by hand and as it appeared to be made of plastic we did not try to use grips. Can anyone help with regard to the lack of fuel at the bleed point and how to we turn the drain screw? We have of course opened the fuel valve. Regards, Stuart

Thanks for all your welcome advice, I have taken that one out and fitted an old spare and its working. I will return the first one to the supplier for a refund.

I fitted a new heater two weeks ago, it has worked fine until yesterday when it stopped working. It has not tripped out and I have checked that power is getting to it. Before I go and order another one, is there anything I may have missed?

Thanks for your prompt reply, my mate has just increased her engine size and has no water leaks but is having to top up with about 3 litres of water after running the engine for 3 hours. Your comments please?

If you increase the the size of your engine from 35hp to 46 hp, should the size of the skin tank be increased?

A friend has phoned me because she cannot get her generator to start, its has fuel and the correct level of oil in the sump. Anyone with any ideas I can pass on? Staurt
