I agree with the various sentiments posted here and would support the fact that many of us ourselves are not helping. Have been out since May and over the last few weeks have seen several folks going through locks as single boats. It really is a shame and when you chat to them about waiting they often have the poorest excuse, especially when you wait up...... Why don’t we try helping ourselves in the simplest situation? It’s all very well to pass the blame but blame doesn’t create a solution.......why as suggested by others don’t we try and help. Doing our bit might slow our journey down but it may reduce a little the problems of the environment in which we currently live. I love boating and I love my boat it may be short lived if we don’t put our minds to our own future. To be honest some of the attitude of boaters towards the environmental issues is poor and beggars’ belief. It amazes me how many recently have not even realised the issues we are facing and don’t care either. I hope it improves soon, although my trip is soon to end but it would be nice to be able to continue travelling a little at weekends etc. Cheers for letting me have a rant!!!! S
