  1. Many thanks for that G and F you are the perfect counter balance to my technological ineptitude
  2. Hi all Oh the frustration of a cupboard devoid of soup bowls due to them being pressed into service for leaky window drip collection duties! The long and the short of it is this, our poor old boat being of reasonable age (built mid 80's) is now at the stage where the window rubbers are harder than Mr T's hair dresser and no longer keep the H2O on the outside, being an Ex trip boat the windows in question are big picture types with a sliding opening half.Having looked around for a year or so i have been unable to source a similar bead on line or through show visits. The only sniff i've had is a company in China who say they can manufacture bead to a sample (minimum order 1000 metres)what on earth am i going to do with the best part of a Kilometer of spare beading. So last chance saloon any of you people out there any suggestions other than the ussual channel glaze etc? all things being equal to some good advice there should be a photo below Many thanks in advancement and i'll buy you a beer when i see you X http://s1273.beta.photobucket.com/user/Desmogixus/media/windowrubber_zpsa4ea3518.jpg.html[/img]
  3. Ah thanks for the link but drew a blank with Seals Direct hmmm Photobucket OK looks like a new skill for me to learn, will give it a go Cheers
  4. Hi all looking for a bit of help sourcing some window rubbers but before i can bask in the glow of your profound knowledge how on earth can i post a picture of the rubber in question on this forum?
  5. Thanks very much for you replies Den and Chris did have a trawl through e-bay found a few of the later type which have different fittings so might do at a push but will keep looking the midland chandlery people look worth a call so will get on the phone to them many thanks again Chris
  6. Hi everyone after a bit of advice if possible having recently bought a boat in need of "a little attention" one of my first jobs, having spent 4 days on board getting it to our mooring is to get the bloody heating working!! due to the bilge having got fairly full in it's previous life the 12v fuel pump that gets the fuel up to the webasto diesel heater is now refusing to work. and having stripped it i can understand it's reluctance. point being the nice man in my local dealership (admittedly specializing more in cars and coaches than boats) managed to identify it in his parts book (which due to the age of the model was hand written on velum in illuminated script) and it's no longer available the pump in question is a diaphragm type with what look like 5/8 BSP fittings and the boiler itself is a big old thing resembling as near as damn it a scud missile can anyone suggest an alternative (Preferably with similar fittings to save me buying a new braided hose) or does any one know of a supplier who may still keep older parts new or second hand many thanks in advance kind regards Chris
