  4. I adapted a spark plug wrench to take an 18mm socket. Much easier to use than a spanner

  8. Just some thoughts Daily when on the move: grease propshaft gland Weekly: Engine fluids, check levels: State of batteries. Drinking water tank levels. Pumpout tank or cassette, depends upon how many are on board. Monthly: wash boat down to stop green algae taking a hold: Check state of lines and ropes. Yearly check blacking and efficacy of antifreeze in both the engine and central heating if boat has this. Flush water system through with propriety cleaner: fresh water tank cleaner - Search Ad hoc make sure wine cellar is adequately refreshed. 😀

  12. The most memorable banters I can remember were in 2013 and 2014 when at least 20 boats and their crews met at Long Buckby. To quote a phrase "A fun time was had by all. " The New Inn had its coffers added to in no uncertain terms. Another boater and myself single handed from Calcutt area to Buckby breasting up in the locks.
