  1. and here was me expecting to see a speed boat nowt like abit of bully
  2. the trip boat i crew is hydrolic drive. the only thing we've noticed different really is things getting stuck in the prop, they break the pin on a direct drive, but no other action other than clearing the prop needed with hydrolic
  3. its probly the requirements for arranging moving an collecting it thats put most people off, and as you say its about the same price as getting something built to your own spec. maybe they might take less if it sits around longer
  4. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Traditional-60ft-Ste...1QQcmdZViewItem spotted this on ebay, and thought id make people aware of it looks quite nice from the pictures might be useful to someone. ive counted my pennies and i cant afford it yet
  5. for anyone that wants to look up old maps online, heres a really useful website. i found out my house had a great view both sides until someone build more houses in 1850ish, how inconsiderate of them. http://www.old-maps.co.uk/
  6. one good tip is not to try and turn round near fishing platforms, as one day you will get stuck. only 20 minutes taken to free from the wedged state oops
  7. they'll never let kids near that, just think of the health an safety issues they have these days, theres the water, then boats. a crane, then a boat dangling about from the crane, the health an safety man would have kittens, the wonders of a modern age

    England

shame to see people letting boats get into that state. should give it to me not let it sink an kill itself
  11. not very often you can take this sort fo picture, top gate open showing the bottom. quite small cills on all the locks on the chesterfield, but still big enough if some people arnt watching
  12. still sat on the bottom, an working on the walling still
  13. the walling you can see on the right in that pic has collapsed further round the corner so there redoing all the walling on this section. they drained about a mile section, i dont see there being trips this sunday somehow, work was still in progress this morning on the walling
  14. chesterfield canal, been drained for work to be carried out, but only 1 boat on this end so no big hassle
