  1. Thank you. The all important question now, by the looks of it is are hobs and ovens considered high or low pressure applications??
  2. Hi there. The fitting of the hob and the oven have been on the back burner! Finally back on schedule. For connecting these two appliances, i was going to use a pre-made flexible hose like this one: http://www.elyboatchandlers.co.uk/BSS/stoc.../36inchhose.htm But i've been told i can make my own up using hose and a hosetail that looks alittle like: http://www.whalepumps.com/images/uploads/WU1280B.jpg (barbed one end and pipe dia at the other) PLUS crimps as per: http://www.nationalwelding.com.au/hose%20crimps.JPG Is this ok? will it pass Boat Safety? Thanks for your help.
  3. That's great. I'm sorted. I will use the correct valves with stamped pipe. Thanks guys
  4. Thank you. I think you have pointed me in the right direction. I need a 1/2" (from cooker) to 3/8 (to my pipework) union and then use a hose and pigtail (3/8). Thanks for the link but i can't see what it need there. Will have a hunt on google OR can you show me which one?! the cooker has 1/2" male or female as does the hob. i need to convert to 3/8". by the sounds of it a union will do the job. With regard to the gate valve, i'd prefer one as a precaution.
  5. Hi There. I need some advice on plumbing a cooker and a hob in. I’ve got a domestic oven and a separate domestic hob. (both with FFD and both with LPG jets). My pipe work from the LPG bottles is 3/8”. I’ll be using Equal Tees with a stop cock off the main pipe (stop cock for hob and a separate one for the oven). Where I am stuck is on what happens next – The Oven and the hob inlets are designed for standard natural gas hoses, I’m not sure of the thread as it’s not on the fitting instructions. Can anyone advise me on what hoses I need to connect from the oven and hob to the 3/8” plumbing??
  6. Not great to tell you the truth. Those poor guys down stream!!!!! I' don't know any thing about composting loo's - more info please.
  7. Hi all. Just when I thought I had the toilet setup decided on (75 gallon pump out). I have been told by a coulpe people that I need not bother with the tank and to flush straight into the water. The boat will be moored on the Ouse where apparently it's legal and widely used method?! Is this right? What do you guys think of flushing doo's straight out??
  8. Got the waste connection, thanks. all begining to make sense i think . So when i press the switch for the pump to drain the bath will it cut out automatically when all the water has drained? Also then, seeing as it only kicks in when the button is pressed, when having a shower do you press it on during the shower or after you've finished washing?
  9. Thanks. i understand. With regard to the pump and filter for the bath, does it kick in automatically when you pull the plug? or does it have a push button? does the following link show the type of pump and filter that i should get? http://www.aladdinscaveshop.co.uk/jabsco-p...-pump-220-p.asp
  10. Hi all. I've got the kitchen now planned. Know what, when and roughly how! Now need help and advice on the bathroom. 1. I've decided to go for a pump out system with a 75gallon tank. The complete kit from LeeSanitation if going to cost me approx 1k. Is this reasonable? 2. I'm going to fit a small sit in bath. I have no idea how the plumbing (waste) works? How do I empty the bath/shower water? Do I have a domestic type trap connected to a pump? how does it get plumbed up? 3. The waste from the basin, would i be better off taking that direct out of the hull or should i direct it to the same place as the bath? Thanks in advance for help and advice.
  11. I'm aware of jets to convert hobs, do you get them for ovens too? Generator is a good idea but i'd rather the redhead kept me awake rather than the grunts of the generator!!!
  12. Thanks for your help. Ok so domestic electric ovens probably a no go but what about the domestic gas? - can these be run on LPG? Brunettes are nicer than blondes. But red heads..........!!!!!!!!! Will check the ratings at the boat yard. Thanks.
  13. Hi all. I've just gotten my first boat ever, on which i plan to live. Due to money (or the lack of) this is the only option open to me). Trying to plan what I want to do with it. I've got the following questions, Hope someone can help: 1. Am I ok using a domestinc type fridge on mooring supply 2. Am I ok using a domestic type freezer on mooring supply 3. Hob I know should have provisions for flame failure. 4. Ovens. what about them?? Electric domestic? Can the mooring supply deal with it? Gas? Can it be connected to LPG? 5.
