Satellite was looking very sorry for herself when I last saw her a few months ago.

Very sorry to hear that. Spent many happy times chatting with him in his shed, his (sometimes strange smelling) roll ups constantly on the go and his folk music. I have many many things painted by him - including the back cabin of my current boat. He had a wicked sense of humour and I've got a few bits he painted that have an "adult theme" to them. When he first met my other half of the time (who was amply endowed in the chest department) he looked straight at her and said "well, I can tell what he sees in you!" When he had had enough of signwritting boats, I managed to pursuade him to do a couple of extras for me. It had to be in a heated dock that he could smoke in. Luckily there was one he could get to that, didn't so much allow smoking (smoking ban), but that didn't look too closely at what was being done in there. I loved that the job to be done always seemed to perfectly fit the time available (though never had any bearing on the cost). When he signwrote Satellite for me, it wasn't tied up that well. As boats passed and it moved, he just painted whatever bit was in front of him at the time. I said I'd stop it moving and he just said "not to worry, just makes it interesting". It all looked perfect when he'd finished. I loved not just his boat painting but also his other styles too. RIP Roy.

Gorse dropped briefly to £49k but now seems to have disappeared. Hopefully she found a new home.

Cascade, if I remember correctly. A lovely boat.

Bococks of Birmingham can. I've got quite a few of these cans and it's interesting how variable the width of the lower section is.

A few years ago I did seriously investigate spud legs as an option. Great for a workboat, but surprisingly impractical for a pleasure boat.

I've currently got Temac Red Oxide Gloss. Seems to keep its gloss quite well. Historical term pedant alert: boats don't have a roof, they have a cabin top.

Wey (edit too add - probaably not Wey, but Aye) is a great piece of kit/toy Always fancied a boat with a Hiab. Not sure what for exactly - for fun I suppose.

We craned in at Robertstown. But that was in 1999. -

The question we alllllll want to know the answer to. -
The sign says not. But then again the sign also says that boats over 5'6" width won't fit either, which I'm pretty sure is nonsense. I walked past it last week and thought it looked long enough to turn a full length boat. But can't say I've tried it.

Please advise on buying a boat privately without a broker!

Technically, there isn't for cars either. A DVLA V5 only shows the "registered keeper" i.e. the person responsible for tax, insurance etc. It is not proof of ownership and the vehicle owner can be (and particularly in the case of fleet vehicles, often is) a different person or entity. -
Currently with CraftInsure and they seen to be okay.
