  1. Then apply the rules evenly across the board. I challenge you mods to go into every post with an un-attibuted image and place a warning. I know you won't and that highlights the ambiguity here. You make it up, suck in the content, enjoy the stats as long as there is no complaint. If there is a petty whine you get a bit sanctimonious.
  2. If you have hundreds of captured old images, often > 70 years old (and you did not catalogue them) and you then share them amongst other specific enthusiasts "not for profit" but to celebrate uk heritage (and generate a bit of adult discussion), is it such a crime? Who are the losers?
  3. You may note that I had put the lack of canal towpath in fact in quotation marks (ie not my assertion) to generate hopefully some comments as it seemed odd. I did not expect a wholly negative response. I deleted the image due to your objection, not even sure where I got it from as I have a huge lot of photo's ref canals that as a canal lover I collected over the years. But if it's bad form to not put an attribution on an old photo then perhaps you need to put on win-ging comment on every post in here that does the same?

  5. I found this uncaptioned random image on a Brentford facebook site and did an image search. The image search lead me to the caption from the CRT collection webpage. "Black and white photograph taken by T W Millner from the side of the canal, on the canal there are a pair of Edward Powell's narrowboats including one called "Water Lily". Shows the Humphries family including children on the side of the canal, a woman and a child on one of the boats, and Andrew Humphries who is visible with a horse in the background. The small boy in a cap on the photograph is called Arthur Newton. There is a Grand Junction Canal Company ("G.J.C.C. Northampton") maintenance boat opposite the narrowboats. A set of lock gates and a bridge can be seen in the background along with the lock keepers cottage by the canal"

The photo is taken by the Fox Pub in Hanwell guessing possibly 1930's he is in the front of the Rennie in his Flat Cap.
