A few years ago I used to regularly walk along the tow path in Macclesfield to get to work, and used to chat to the regular dog walkers. There was one gentleman who I got to know quite well, who had, if I remember correctly, a border terrier called Wolfie. One morning I met him and he told me that a couple of days previously, he'd walked under the bridge as usual, then the dog stopped and absolutely refused to walk any further. He rurned rould and walked back, got to the other side of the bridge and the very high bank just collapsed and slid down into the canal. I can't find my photos of it now, but the bank took several months to rebuild. Luckily the canal wasn't affected, though there was a warning to be aware of rocks in the water. That little dog definitely sensed something was wrong, and probably saved hos owner's life.

My monthly price hasn't changed for years! I have no idea what my data package is, I don't stream, watch films or even YouTube. Just browse the internet a bit and send texts.
-
I get a free upgrade phone from EE every few years. And a cheap call/text package. I'm happy with that.
-
We've been with EE for years, but these days they appear to be staffed by "straight out of school" sales trainees. They couldn't help us at all with actual phone issues.
-
That's definitely the way. Going to EE is pointless, they just sell phones and packages. An independant phone shop will fix problems, whether it's apps or hardware.

What is the quickest way to decommission an alternator?

You haven't been a member here very long, so you're probably not aware that there used to be quite a lot of female members. Over the years most of them have gone, for a variety of reasons, which included the very male attitude. When the Politics section was separated from the main forum that attitude started to change, and a few women started to join. It's important, as far as I'm concerned, that they are treated with respect, like every other member of the forum. I don't think you are aware how your attitude and responses come across on here. Unfortunately I think it's too late for you to change. -

I remember you saying to Kezza, when you were recommending a quiet canal for her to get used to her boat, that if she came to your local area, you'd meet her and take her places in your car. I was very concerned about that. Not something you should say online to a single woman you've never met. A little sexual predatorish. -

I have to say that I find all his nonsense a useful distraction from all the real world stuff - Trump, Gaza etc - and I'm not sure quite what I'll do when he eventually "sails off into the sunset". -

Yet again you insist on making everything about you. I said nothing about forum history. Yes, there were some bad times but they were over long before you joined. There is no decline, except in your mind. There is no witch hunt. All I was saying is that the forum is a different place when you're not on it. Not better, not worse, just different. It would survive if you left for good, just as it survived before you joined. It is not all about you. -

No, that's not what I meant. When you're not posting, the forum returns to the interesting and more educational forum it used to be before you joined. I can catch up on threads I haven't had the chance to read because it's all been about you, and often find posts from people who haven't posted for a while. It stops being all about Gybe Ho. -

You really do have a problem identifying humour. Did you go to public school or boarding school? The use of "taunt" gives the impression of someone who was regularly bullied. Your continued use of "evil" to describe people on this forum also shows someone who has social issues. However, I must say that your posts on this forum constantly entertain me, and I almost miss you when you disappear for a few days. -
You were right. Hopefully Admin will pick up my report and deal with it quickly. My laptop is now suffering an infection of pop-ups, which my husband is manfully dealing with while I get on with other chores.

The link in your original post contains a Trojan. I have reported it.

I suspect there has been a misinterpretation of one of Gybe Ho's post, possibly due to his style of writing, or his wish not to give any information about his boat, but I got the impression that he said that the previous owner had the boat out of the water last summer. When it came out for survey this summer there were rust spots, so he was intending to treat those. Then he would look when the boat comes out of the water again in two years and see what has happened. It did, on initial reading, seem to me as if he'd had the boat out two years ago, but it made more sense when I read it again. I still, from reading his posts, can't make up my mind whether he's a teenager or an OAP, but there appears to be an attempt at privacy which sometimes causes problems .

It works on my phone if I click the little house. That takes me to the main list of Forums. Scroll down to Miscellaneous and under Waterways and Boat Events is the Links Directory, starting with General Interest, and then another 8, ending with Non-Waterways. There appear to be 956 posts.
