My father used to drive a 4000 gallon tanker for Esso. At the end of a hot day delivering 500 gallons at several locations he'd apparently have 50 g left. He couldn't take it back so the last drop off got a nice bonus.

Its usually what you bang your head on as you go in. Either the boat or the coping stones knock you out.

I'm planning to work off grid in my "field" in the Summer - theoretically a 9 to 5 sort of working day. I'll need power for a laptop and monitor, but a generator would be over the top.. The latptop uses about 65W, the monitor 11W. The laptop could use its internal battery for some of the time, but the monitor appears to be mains only. How big a power bank would be optimum value for money ? ECOflow seem to be the Rolls Royce of makes but are expensive. Thanks

We went in two cars on the Sunday. The event was clearly winding down by then, though it was good to chat to friends on Pirton and Hampton. We had a nice picnic luncheon in the car park, so what we saved on burgers etc., we spent on parking !!

Full of electric cars I guess. Interesting ramp arrangement on the stern.

I saw it too yesterday - newly uploaded to You tube. A great watch on a crappy afternoon. It is featured in one of the threads about wooden wideboat Progress that Chris was rebuilding at Troy wharf Ricky. Sadly Chris died before Progress was completed. Its still there but its future is uncertain.

I wonder if if one of the YouTubers can put together a time line video showing key parts of the boats rescue.

A short report on BBC 1 Breakfast TV today, about 7 50 am. They have refloated one boat.

That's a great film. And a quick turn-round on the re-tubing.

Those boats are down to the "sparrows" !!!
