  1. this one? nah...... its a con I tell you, a con!!!
  2. it was tempting, but, its not her original rudder, it was changed at some point, and changed from the unique Anderton shape. as nice as it would be, I think history is allowed to evolve and they've been on that boat longer ironically!!
  3. https://ebay.io/m/gfQkKf "Adrastea" for sale on Ebay? historic? yes, she was originally built as "Ganymede" by Malcolm Braine from the stern end of the GU butty Satellite, and interestingly was built utilising the dollies, Ram's head and rudder from some old knackered wooden boat broken up in the 70's called Norway.......
  4. back from the Etruria Canal Festival, it was lovely to see forum members out and about and all your kind words! we're now tied at Middleport Pottery dressing the wharf for a couple of weeks, before heading to Braunston at the end of the month.
  5. not a bad price, for a matched pair, Hyades had much work done not so long ago before the previous sale I believe.
  6. oh..... no more than the required speed limit.....
  7. nah. only kidding.... we've got a 250L tank under the prop shaft...
  8. absolutely! I was also reciprocating by implying a working boat has a water tank.....
  9. aah. we did that. this just reminded me of our conversation..... unless you mean the stretch at Alrewas! I was filling the water tank.. also.... the 2 day moorings are full of boats which have definitely been there more than 2 days/months/years *delete as appropriate..
  10. no. in the middle of the gearwheel.
  11. we've escaped....... off to Etruria for the canal festival next weekend....
  12. I'd heard fruit tea had gone up in price.........
  13. I'm sure I've read somewhere recently (the past 2 or 3 years) about someone almost making it to Beeston weir by accident..... maybe with a bit of fresh on..... I could be wrong.... but a shame the lock isn't still in use at Beeston. it would be a nice alternative to the Nottingham cut.
