  1. I had a Piper years ago - the handrails were wooden (and largely rotten!)
  2. Hi Can anybody shed any light onto a probable age and/or painter for this please? More images here https://www.amazon.co.uk/photos/share/xgloCObqXsl0st0084a2QQN511mrSM6Ovwp0czitvRk Many thanks
  3. You’re right! I misread the card! Nice to know more about it - I’ve had the card for years!
  4. I think, like us, you moor at Park Farm - so you are probably aware of the Indian in Davenham - always been great for us. Not a lot of good if you are moored in Middlewich though!
  5. I’ve messaged you! I’ve messaged you
  6. Good to hear it has buoys on it - there weren’t any when we went up!
  7. Has the sunken plastic boat that was lying right in the middle of the canal been shifted yet? We were warned it was there as it was very easy to miss! My advice would be to ignore the Canalplan timings (as someone else mentioned) and if you have time, take two days to get up there; we are quite deep drafted and I was a 10 hour trip for us. I’m pleased to hear that it’s quicker going down as we hope to be leaving Langley Mill later this week! I was thinking in the month we have been up there, the weed might have become more of an issue!
  8. Congratulations Phil - she’s a cracking boat! I notice you have established a Facebook page ‘Narrow Boat Tycho’ - hopefully you can keep us informed of progress. I think I have some photos somewhere - I will try and find them and pop them onto the page.
  9. Looks like 12 weeks are being quoted for repairs https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/uk-news/substantial-repairs-collapsed-canal-banking-31324007?fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAR3bDBCdZFWUMKBMOGkObhdu4kSXtK3Q5v_Maag70oanJu4C7R35_EKRLoA_aem_CsLc4CDnCcf7AmzRvqaJnw
  10. We travelled through London last year and a few months later got a email from CRT, itemising how we had been overstaying at various sites in the capital. We were actually in a marina in Northwich. Can only assume that someone used our reg number!
  11. Thanks, I will try and track this service down - has to be cheaper than buying a new one!
  12. Thanks for the suggestions - I will try Wilson’s and one or two other propshaft specialist in the hope that they do not only work on automotive stuff with hollow shafts and UJs. @stagedamager I was going to suggest I just hired a van and took it to your supplier, but it looks like you are also yet to find one. I’ll let you know!
  13. Yes - it’s a K2. Tom checked all that out. Everything leads us to think that it’s got a slight bend in it - possibly from the day it was new! I can’t imagine that it got bent by striking something!
