  1. When you're running a bit lower on fuel, measure the depth of fuel in your tank with a length of dowel/mop handle or whatever, and then when you next go to fill up, ask the operator to put either 25 or 50 litres in to begin with, and then measure it again before filling to the top. It 25 or 50 litres works out at 1 inch, 2cm or whatever you're able to work out the capacity.
  2. From the south / T&M you can get to the Little Bollington winding hole. The Outrington one you mention is about half an hour short of the LB one. The north / Manchester one is as you suggest but unfortunately a fair way off the damned bit.
  3. Not quite. The winding hole just passed the water point, at Little Bollington is currently the furthest you can go south. Unless signed (such as Lymm, Ye Olde No 3 etc), its actually only 24hr transit moorings, not the usual 14 days you get anywhere with CRT.
  4. Gauge House in Preston Brook, sale also to potentially include a 57ft narrowboat moored on the private moorings opposite. A lot of history here, but would take what they say about this "gate keepers" house in the sales bumf with a pinch of salt! https://edwardmellor.co.uk/property-for-sale/10167353/

    HA2 fuel banjo

Thanks, seems the best way to go at the moment. I'll get some goop to slap on there so I can keep moving.

    HA2 fuel banjo

Yeah, that crossed my mind. I can't really do it in situ though so off with the fuel pump door to remove the copper... I'd have to do that anyway to replace it I suppose 🙂

    HA2 fuel banjo

Hi all, the banjo union from the original purolatoe fuel filter to the fuel pump on my Lister HA2 has developed a hairline crack which has started to weep fuel. Does anyone know the size of it to source a replacement please? I'd like to avoid removing it yet to reduce downtime. Its a soldered joint and the copper line is fine so just looking to remove and replace the union. Picture below. The red circle is where the hairline crack has appeared and is weeping. Thanks in advance
  8. Unfortunately not. I remember possibly an old member of this Forum, who had another smaller tug style boat who purchased the boat I mentioned above. It was they who had it moored at Streethay, and were carrying out the upgrade and refit works. I seem to remember they had a blog somewhere with pictures too. Can't for the life of me remember who it was 🤔 Found it! But completely got the wrong name! https://tugharry.blogspot.com/?m=1 Haven't looked at it in any detail but certainly a very similar boat.
  9. Could possibly be/have been called Norton in the dim and distant past? If its the same boat, it does look like it, it was for sale with Virginia Currer Marine about 16 or 17 years ago. Eventually sold and if I remember rightly, was involved in a fire which caused a fair bit of internal damage. If it's the same boat it ended up being sold again and was at Streethay for a time undergoing a refit.
  10. I probably won't be using ASAP supplies again. I ordered about 20 different fittings, all showing as in stock online and paid for next day delivery. I only received 1 item the following day, and the rest of it finally appeared by the following Wednesday. I got refunded on the postage but I told them at the time that's not the point, I needed it urgently to complete a job.
  11. Somebody better tell their landlord then because he doesn't know!
  12. Not sure where the rumour came from, but not the case.
