  1. What does the smoke smell of?
  2. It will fit, we have one as a spare on our boat with a Halfords equivalent in use at the moment , just be aware you might need to play around with the mounting brackets
  3. If you swap the alternator make sure you get the correct one. The one you have seems to have it's double mounting brackets at the bottom and just one at the top with the alternator pulley below the water pump pulley, which is why there is that spare bolt , washer and nut flopping around at the top left.
  4. Mintball just displaces the hanging plastic strips on the gauge below the lock... https://mintball.tty.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/sites/3/nggallery/boating-2019/1003-4285.jpg ( shows the boat and the gauge )
  5. Ours was the same - a pile of bits in the bell housing. The first one that was on the engine when we got it back in the 1980s had metal springs in it.
  6. So the both faces of the plate don't move against each other if you take one in each hand and try to rotate them?
  7. So is there any play in the plate? Is it that the studs holding the spider in place have come loose? Do you mean the gearbox spline on the plate or the splined shaft on the gearbox?
  8. If you put something into the splined socket can you turn it at all? If the plate has gone and that's the output to the gearbox I'd expect it to have significant play in it
  9. So a simplified version of ladder programming
  10. That's what the pump looks like on Mintball. The cable bracket is fastened to the bolts for the CAV fuel filter. As you said, I suspect a lot of engines have their own custom made brackets
  11. Are the coils split to do half the tank each or are they both full tank coils. If the whole of the tank is hot and you power up the webasto does the calorifier coil return pipe get warm? On Mintball the engine heats the whole tank and the Optimus the top half. When the tank is hot and we turn the Optimus pump on the return line for that coil gets warm quite quickly
  12. Silly question but if the bore on the calorifier coil is big enough why not route the CH water through the coil on the way to the rads? I know it will mean that if you fire everything up from cold it will take longer for the rads to heat up
  13. Even bridge data gets out of date - just a lot slower than things like petrol stations, restaurants, pubs...
  14. Data rot is something that affects all canal apps/websites that contain anything that isn't purely historic.
  15. It seems to be using old data looking at the Web Version - Ladybird Moorings in Market Drayton haven't been Tom's Moorings since well before COVID, Starline haven't been at upton on severn marina for years either, and it seems to be missing quite a few bridges and locks, and doesn't have Norbury Wharf in either. Would have been interesting to try out its route planning but you apparently have to create an account and login to do that.
