Thanks to you all. @DHutch Mechanical Engineering aye, I've done Manufacturing at college. For me if I was going to go down this route I would have to be within travelling distance to Canvey Island, I notice there are a few marinas around Chelmsford and one on Canvey - whether they are residential I don't have a clue But tis good to learn, got a good few years till I could make the move.

I'm a young man hopefully starting a career as a draughtsman, and am toying with the idea of being a liveaboard. Reading through here and other sites i'm finding lots of info and learning about the practicalities(sp) of it. In other words it's a great site.
