  1. Top Tip! Woweee this forum is like a gold mine ;-)
  2. I know Im bonkers, and my question is rather lacking in hard fact(!) But you have actually answered me perfectly master bottle. Between you and magnet man I feel I have found all I wanted.. a rough guestimate of costs on my imaginary boat.. hurrah! In return I hope Ive made you all smile (hehehe)
  3. Ha! Sorry. I am a twerp( and dont drive so Im clueless). I mean the tank takes 250L... I wondered how log a fuel tank could last roughly. Magnet man that info is super ;-)
  4. Ha! I was just hoping for a rough guestimate. I have no idea how long a tank can last...
  5. Hey lovelies Just wondering if anyone has roughly a 60ft x 12 widebeam with a 250L diesel engine, and if they can give me a rough guestimate of how long the tank lasts if you're running a decent generator, using a fair bit of electricty, and continual cruising (moving every 2 weeksish)? Thank you!!
  6. Thanks for the comment above grace & favour! Also pleased that this thread turned in to a to and fro over boat size. Such good info! 60 x 12 sounds like the winner! X
  7. After reading this thread, and chatting to my partner, we've decided that the best thing we can do is spend the next year chattig to london boaters, doing more research online, and of course seeing how our mates get on with their new continual cruising lifestyle. Then in a year, we should have a clearer idea about how the new rules are going to effect the lifestyle. Having to move every 2/7/10 days would be a lot harder work than every 14. I'll keep my ear to the ground and hopefully make a well informed decision come a years time.
  8. That sounds like excellent advice lady muck. I hate the thought of upsetting current boaters! I have pals who have recently moved on to the east london canals and have joined the cruising community so I am looking forward to dinner with them soon to discuss. I think coming to the meeting sounds like a great idea too. There are limits to just how far we want to cruise simply because of friends and lifestyle, but we are pretty free so perhaps this option can still work for us. This is a very fabulous and useful forum. Thanks to all for your advice.
  9. Its cool. Im hearing you! The vibe is that its not cool to cruise to and fro in a small area. Like I said.. more research needed! Thanks guys
  10. Fair enough guys. We're keen to stay in east and north london, but happy to move around greater london if needs be. I understand that there are tensions around this subject. More research needed I feel! All of your comments are appreciated :-)
