  1. Cool. I never noticed holes, but if thats the case, which sounds most logical, then all is fine due to the access from the large vents I fitted fore and aft. Pheww!!
  2. Thanks for all your thoughts. Yeah, i could access all the floors by taking up flooring and removing boards.
  3. Thanks mate. The vents fore and aft are a foot long. but as the steel ribbing (about 16 of them) for the hull runs across the boat, any leaks would not be able to travel down the boat - so if you wanted access to the whole floor that would mean 16 hatches which seems crazy and somthing i've never seen in a boat before. There is room around all the edges to fit a hose from a pump for worst case scenarios I've never had problems with condensation and its been laid 4 yrs now.
  4. Hi. I outfitted a widebeam, and for the flooring I laid weather proof loftboards on top of wooden bearers, allowing gaps between the bearers for circulation. I also left gaps along the edges of the sides and I then used water resistant laminate flooring lined with insulation.I then placed several vents fore, aft and a couple in the middle, to encorage air flow. But now its been suggested I should add inspection hatches to the floor. I don't really understand what pupose this would serve, as you would not really be able to access much unless you had a lot of them and nor can I think where to put them. Any suggestions comments would be helpfull thanks.
