  1. Hi robden, did you solder to the top of the brushes or were you able to use the rings? I have the same regulator as this and found it a little tricky.. Also where can I pick up a spare? Thanks
  2. Thanks for the comments, I will check the budget and the spray foam thickness. Ta
  3. Morning I have a new spray foamed sailaway and was wondering if there is any reason not to put celotex or Rockwool on top of this for extra warmth and sound proofing.? I can't think of any reason not to. Thanks
  4. Yeah I understand about the alarm probs but just see it as deterrent. If somebody wants to get in there is not much to stop them, except that big dog. Which system is that, I think boat warden maybe, which CCTV do you have? Is it 12v
  5. Just wondering if anybody has any has any opinion on which alarm system to use on a new fit out. I have seen various alarm and monitoring systems from gsm, boat warden, yacht sentinel, and am curious to know which is the best/ reliable. Would this also control my heating in the same unit?
  6. Had it running yesterday for about 6 hours on genny 240 and never seemed to get any colder,am wondering if the thermostat is buggered,,is there any way I can test this?
  7. So I've turnt it upside down, hoovered the back and blown out the gas jet but it seems to be the same. Its a dometic 3 way I think it's a 7400 but the info has been rubbed off the inside.. I have had it about 4 years.. I was thinking maybe the thermostat is bust. I was thinking of hooking it up to the mains to see if it works that way.. It has never been serviced mike...
  8. It's not frosted up... Will Hoover out the back, thanks
  9. My gas powered fridge doesn't seem to be very cold but the ice box is frozen. Any one know anything about these?
  10. Thanks for all the info. I've decided to go for 1 175 amp and a 65 which comes as standard on that engine.but all useful info. Ta
  11. Ok so I'm thinking of having two banks of trojan batteries, one for my 12v lights pumps etc and the other for 240 into 3kv investor charger. The alternators on the engine are 175 amp and I'm getting the othermuprated to a 175 amp. I will then charge both banks with an alternator each and split one to do my starter bat. Solar in there as well, just to keep topping up. Does this sound like a good idea or are two 175 amp alternators overkill. Or does anybody have any better solutions?
  12. Thanks for all your help much appreciated . Chris why use tri rated cable, is that bss? What's the difference with that and normal multistranded?
  13. Thanks for all the advice , all very complicated but I'm sure it will sort itself out once I start
  14. Not sure how to pm on this, guessing I have to add you as friend first? But thanks for the advice
